2006 Shot Show

Back from the Shot Show.
It was the most impressive event I have ever seen.

One of the truly impressive things about the whole show is how dominating predator hunting was throughout. If a company wasn't already involved in predator hunting in some form, they had product plans and prototypes to share of their upcoming predator hunting products. Get ready guys. Predator hunting is going to be huge.

There were crowds of people everywhere a predator video was showing and at every location the crowds were loudly helping the hunter shoot the coyotes and bobcats on screen. Loud cheers could be heard when the shots were fired, which brought in bigger crowds to see what was going on. Deer hunting is deer hunting, but PREDATOR Hunting is and action sport. People loved it.

Virtually everyone was thirsty for HOW TO HUNT COYOTES.
Byron South, Todd Woodall, Jeff Thomason, Jim McGill, Lance Adams, Les Johnson, Mike Dillon, Steve Dillon, Dan Thompson, Gerald Stewart, Al Morris, Brent Rube, Rod Haydel, Anderson, Borelands and many, many more did every predator hunter proud in promoting the sport. Their enthusiasm helped fuel a fire under virtually everyone they talked to.

To be honest with you, in the recent past, predator hunters in AZ have been looked down on as the bottom feeders of the hunting world. NOT ANY MORE GUYS> Things are changing fast and deer and elk hunting organizations are changing their tune (fast).

Man you got to hang out with all them guy's /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif. I know what your sayin about predators, they are definately more challenging and more action packed.

Sounds like a helluva good time out there. No more bottom feeding anymore huh..LOL. I get calls constantly from guy's lookin to get into predator hunting, my wife gives me crap all the time for bein on the phone so much. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Wish you continued success Jay, The family loves Interview with a coyote and JB's rodeo!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I was Glad to finally met Less Johnson, Todd Woodall and Jeff Thomason, John Septien, Brent Rueb, Dave Krien from Coyote Jakes, Dan Thompson, Rod Haydel, The Borlands, Nolan Gardner, and Bill Del Monte. All of which I consider my friends and hope they feel the same. It was good seeing alot of friends I made from last year and some i havent seen in a long time. Jay Nistetter, RanUtah, Jim McGill, Onis (not gunna try and spell the lst name, I know I'll get it wrong), Mike and Steve Dillon,Byron & Lanna South, Gerald Stewart and his wife (im sorry, Im terrible with names) and im sure a few I missed. It was an excelent show and I thank those who weren't to busy to share time with me and hope we can meet up again someday (Hopefully with rifles and over looking a large sage flat).

Jay , Im having computer issues. If you could post the pics, it would be greatly appreciated. If not , I'll try and get them up here in a few days.

Glenn,
That coyote was playing on Byron's video at three places.
Will work of reducing some photos. Will take a few minutes.

Gerald the one I have of you is the one Lance took. Not sure if I should show it.

Let me start by saying that I won the lottery when Mike Dillon invited me to come up to the Shot Show. It was a true pleasure to finally shake his hand.

Steve (left) and Mike (right) Dillon at the FOXPRO site before the cattle doors opened. These two fellows are as nice in person as they are over the phone.

Lance Adams. The hardest working guy at the entire show.
I can’t thank you enough for everything you did.

Les Johnson. You couldn’t meet a nicer guy.

Jay and Friends.

Gerald Stewart asking for directions.
Gerald is one of the finest men around and thank God for his wonder wife keeping him that way.

Dan Thompson and Byron South. I’ve talked to Dan and his wonderful wife many times and was thrilled to finally meet him in person. Unfortunately Dan’s wife couldn’t be there but I will get to see her in a few weeks. Wishing you well, Wanda. Dan was more fun than I could handle. He truly loves the sport and will openly share his knowledge if only asked.

Byron South, Byron South, Byron South, Byron South. By the second day he learned to sign his autograph using both hands at the same time. His impromptu video was a big hit at the show.

Byron and friend. At the Budweiser Part held in the Hard Rock Cafe. Funny thing was that the band playing at this party was a County Western Band.
ByronandFriend01.jpg

After we were kicked out of this party, Everyone (but me) jumped into a stretch Hummer Limo and it was off to Beaches. I had to find my Buick and caught up with everyone later. That was a funny story in itself. I wandered up to the front door of the new party with a big line of people waiting to get in. A GREAT BIG NFL Linebacke walked up to me and I thought I was toast. He pointed a big finger at me and asked..."YOU JAY? FOLLW ME!" He lifted the rope and in I went. WHEW! Inside there was a PARTY GOING ON!. Several time they announced "No Hats Are Allowed In The Club". Yeah Right. The Shot Show crowd is not the people you want to make take off their hats. At least I thought it was funny. Got a great photo of Mike Dillon with his clacker. (Don't Ask)

Byron and more friends. Ted Who?

I’ll finish by saying that there are a lot more pictures and that there is truth that What Goes on in Vegas, Stays in Vegas.

Thanks for the picture of me looking kind of guilty...about what....cavorting with the competition....or playing pocket pool? Wonderful picture Jay .....just wonderful. With friends like you who needs Bill Martz for an adversary?

See if I ever give you any freebees again......... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Where were all the cameras at the 1989 SHOT SHOW when Jim Doughtery, Murry Burnam and I were the only ones blowing a Predator call?. No chance in hell of seeing a Coyote hunt on video back then.

jay,I your wife told me she wasn't a bit worried that you aren't wired for 2-20! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Dang! Looks like I missed a great show with great friends. I'll put it on the calender for next year, for sure.

Jay, I love the picture of you and your 'friends' there in Brent's booth. You ARE the Pimp Daddy! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for sharing...Tony

Thanks for posting the pics Jay.
And to set the record straight, I didnt get in that limo either. I left the guy to fend for them selfs as I went home to my understanding wife that hadn't seen me in 4 days. (My guess is that was the best vacation she has ever had.)

Gerald, my wife called and said our computer died so I had Jay download all the pics off my camera. Sorry I let that one get through.

Ronny, Dont blame everone else you forgot your cammera. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The Shot Show will be held in Orlando , Florida next year.
