22-250 pet load?

I liked 35.5 grains of RL-15 with 55 grain Bergers when I was using a standard 22-250. Now I like 38.2 grains of RL-15 with 60 grain Bergers in my 22-250AI….

I’ve never used BL C2. I’ve found if you want the best combination of speed and accuracy for the .22-250’s RL-15 seems to be the go to powder. In a standard .22-250 and a 55 grain bullet 3700+ fps. And 3900+ fps out of a .22-250AI. With well under 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards…… I had been getting 3800 fps with 60 grain Bergers in my Ackley until I cut 4 inches off the barrel to put a suppressor on. Now I get almost 3700 fps with that bullet and great groups. What’s not to love.

Good Hunting Chad

A lot of people are going to hate me for this but here we go. 40 gr Barnes Varmint Grenades, Lapua brass, CCI primer, 36.5 grains Varget. Kills quick, easy on the pelt. Now be gentle with the comments.

All good info. Thanks. I just loaded some test loads with Varget and BL(C)2. 50 gr Blitzking. I may have some RL15, but I didn't see it. I once loaded with 4064 andv55 gr Nosler BT, and it shot 1/2" groups

The BLC2 is better in all my test loads than the Varget. I have to try some more fine tuning, but this is pretty.hard to beat.
36gr BLC2, 50gn Blitzking, Win LR Primers, 2.4" col.

Still working on a load for my 22-250 with the new Shaw barrel. I think.I am going to stop right here. I did not have my chrono set up, but by advertised load data it should be about 3800fps. This is 40.5 gr H380 50 gr Blitzking. WLR primer. 2.40 COL. My next test load was 41.2 gr, and the group opened to 1" and I could see the beginnings of primer flattening. I have some test loads with RL15, but I'm not going to shoot them.

This is 3 shots with lights after dark.

36-36.5( I lean to 36.5 if the rifle will stay in tune) gr Varget 55 gr Nosler BT. Great accuracy, good fur load. Bullet stays inside the head on shots under 225 yards. 37.5 gr Varget with the 40 gr Nosler BT is very accurate also.

I bought several boxes to shoot up just to get the brass but its been working great on coyotes. Otherwise I'm like you and rarely shoot factory ammo in anything.
