220 swift and 25-06 yote pics

Yotes2Call,

Yes, I am registered over there. But I rarely post over there either.John Henry and I don't see eye to eye on alot of things so I choose to stay away, and not post much. But it's his forum and he runs it how he sees fit, which is his right and I'm not going to sit here and slam him and his members, because I don't like or agree with some of the rules they have especially when they WARN you of those rules before you even register.Pretty plain and simple if you ask me..Good Hunting Chad

All you need is a .17 hmr. Pretty sure the drop on them is 1.5 inches at 500 yards. Kills coyotes dead out to 1000 yards.

Wow! 16" barrel and only 3150fps. HOW is it possible to kill a coyote with sucha sloooow bullet out of such a short barrel. HMMMMMM, lets think about that. Could it be that you shoot that weapon often and you are confident in its abilities at all ranges you are willing to shoot? Nice job! My wife and I recently had our first son and I'm unable to hunt as much as I did. It drives me crazy that he's not old enough to head out with me. By the way how do those 52grn match bullets react to a coyote. I was thinking about trying them in my XP-100 in 221 Fireball. I also have a RRA 16" CAR that loves 55grn bullets. This is the first gun I've ever shot that shoots almost any style/manufacture of 55grn bullets with very similar groups. I was shooting some heavy (68-75grn) match bullets that a friend gave me but they just did not group well in my rifle.

They seem to do just fine. If I get a broad side shot, they go in, leaving a pencil sized entrance hole and don't come out. If a facing shot, they go in the chest leaving tiny entrance, and completely devestate the dog. Instant death.

Shot a running dog in the neck this weekend, it went in one side, and popped out the other. Entrance was pencil sized, exit was dime sized... maybe a lil' smaller.

I switched to these 52gr MHP's after shooting 50gr vmax for a while. The V-max gave me a LOT of trouble with splash wounds. The 52gr is now my bullet of choice for all my .223's. I just bought 2000rnds of it from black hills ammo. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
