Are those 27 and 28 grain charges compression loads? I have been using H335 and Benchmark and I think those two charge weights fill the case up. Do you have any space with those powders?
The best bang for the buck is 26 grains H-335 with a speer # 1035 hollow point OCL 1650 OAL 2200 all my 223,s love this load and its very fur friendly as well as DRT. OAL may vary , not a max load .No spashes, no exit wounds.
My mini-mauser likes 50 gr Rem HP over 25 gr H335 in Lake City brass with CCI sm rifle mag primers. BACK OFF TO START, as this is a warm load in my rifle, because of the military brass (I believe).

Never shot a 3 shot group larger than 3/4" at 100 meters, unless I had "operator malfunctions"

Id be careful with a load like that. The Nosler book says that 23.5 is Max load for a 40 grn bullet. I do enjoy the Nosler Bt's..
I had another load that just shoots a yote all to heck, N-135 with a 55g Sierra lead tip blitz at 3450, I'm talking HUGE holes....no nippers and spinners with this load.

50 gr nosler BT's with 25.5 gr of benchmark and 55 gr BT and speer sp with 25gr of benchmark. I really like the benchmark powder. shoots same point of aim at 0 degrees or 80 degrees and meters really well. with Barnes VG i am using 27 gr of benchmark. Shoots very well but like them better for PD's than coyotes. tend to splash. may work better if you slow them down a bit.
My go to load for Coyotes out of my Savage 26" V-bbl is 60gr Hornady HP, 26gr Varget, & WSR primers chronoed at 3162fps; one shot kills out to 400 yds.

Classic load that works in several of my 223s.
If you want to get the 40gr bullets over 4K fps, have your chamber reamed to 223 Improved and use a friction-reducing coating like HBN, Moly, or Danzac.
