I picked up a Win Mod 770 222. It's pretty well rusted. It spent it's life in a dairy barn. I have me a cheap action. My question. Do i go with a 6x45 or 223 AI. Can't seem to make up my mind.

You mean the .222 remington magnum! I remeber a friend of my Dads had one. When I was young we would have shootout/cookout kinda thing and that was the first rifle I think I ever shot.
Actually it is a 222 Rem Mag IMP.
The 22-204 is what I would do with a small bolt face. Run it in a 1-9 twist for maximum fun!
Actually it's not. I'd call it more of a 222RM Gibbs, as the shoulder is blown forward .275" ala Gibbs rounds.
I think I've posted this pic a hundred times.....
Some cases for comparison.....
221 Fireball --- 222 Rem --- 223 REM --- 223 Ackley --- 222 Rem mag --- 22-204

The the 22-204 has about one more grain capacity than a 223 Ackley and almost two more than a 222 RM, and NO FIREFORMING required.
