I havent even got a 6x6.8 right now

I can understand that. What happened to your 6x6.8?
I opted for a 22 nosler so I could get on with my life instead of playing games with bhw waiting on them to come up with a reamer. I still gotta get a barrel from Ritch.

I don't know about a strip club but I do know guys who spend more than this on smokes in a month. By the way they don't get to hunt with me unless we are hunting a burned out area.

I spent some time thinking over this group buy and I have decided to extend the deadline one more week.

We are now at 11 sets and these folks have been waiting a long time for this opportunity. Some going back to when I started the 6x6.8 project so I don't want to give up yet.

As far as the folks that voted in the poll and have not yet jumped on board, I'd like to hear from you. Are there concerns, reservations, or did you just decide to go another route? PM me if you would rather not post up here.

With all that said, lets give this thing one more week and see where we are at next Friday.

Friday......yes I see that directly above my deadline inquiry lol. Seems like any sane man shouldnt pass this deal up. What bullets and speeds are these 8 twists liking?

77's at 3250 right now with a bit of room. 50 at 3750. 40's a bit over 4000. I would expect a 69 at 3275 or so.

I am going to revisit this 77 grain load area. I am not satisfied that I've worked with it over enough powder ranges without verification.

I really want a set of these dies..as be said it be simpler then bushing it down in steps..I would of thought for those who reloaded would be all over this 22 caliber at those speeds on a ar15 frame and just neck down and shoot..no fireform needed...dan

Well the 22 Nosler doesn't even require the neck down. Just load and go. With that said I still would like to have a set of these dies.

Yes that is correct and as we are seeing that bras has been found wanting. The rebated rim just adds length to the case limiting bullet choice some what in the N. No matter what weight you choose the 22X6.8 will out run the Nosler. Seen it, done and know it on that one.

Toi address the Valkyrie before it shows up the case capacity is so low that a 222 magnum will equal it based on documentation I've seen. It can shoot the big 90's with a 7 twist, so they claim, but should have a faster rate for some wiggle room.

If you step away from the 90 that very few varminters will use then once again the 22X6.8 will out run it and quite frankly stomp a mud hole in its butt. Quite simply there is no substitute for cubic inches and in this case it is a difference of almost 18%.

A one step die turns this cartridge into a simple loading process no harder than a standard factory round with standard dies. No one bitches about making 6X45 out of 223 and there shouldn't be anymore issue on these.

Single source brass may well be the rule on the V. as it is currently on the Nosler and this is an issue since we know that as of late the Federal stuff is not noted for longevity and in the Nosler we know that their quality is hit and miss since they bought SSA.

The Nosler has no readily available substitute that we can make cases out of because of the rebated rim and the fact it's 45 MM long. Hagar brass can be substituted, requiring a change to a 6.8 bolt, but it is rare as hen's teeth at this time and none is available. A classic single source pain in the rear for the cognoscenti. At least with the 22X6.8 we have a bout five or six choices and while the V. can be made out of the 6.8 parent the process and location of the shoulder is starting to get down toward the thickening area and neck forming is going to be a bit problematic.

I have the Nosler and I'll have a Valkyrie but I'm pretty certain that the ratio of rounds down range comparison on rounds put down range will be something like 5:1 compared to the 22X6.8 even if I have to continue to use my bushing dies for case forming.

Just my thoughts after watching and digging on these two new kids on the block since the first whisper hit the news.

I hear Winchester will be offering 22 Nosler brass soon.
The advent of the new dies from Hornady should make everyone much more comfortable with the 6.8 variants. I never had much luck with bushing dies on the first loading. Seems to always be a glitch somewhere. I consider myself to be fairly mechanically astute as well. With that said I cant imagine what kind of issues the average shtf rat tat tat weekend warrier would have. I will be in on this deal....im finacially challenged the last month or so and I need a need night hunting shooting pod and a 6x6.8 barrel as well.....talk about 3rd world poverty! Sheeesh the harsh conditions I gotta deal with!

That would be a step up but since they cant even handle the supplies for 204 Ruger and a few others I don't see that as doing much but every little bit helps.

I think we will all be able to sit on the sidelines and watch the N.vs.V. battle and it will be like too women slinging purses. Can you say 243 Winchester and 6 MM Remington? Seems to me it was neck length and twist rate battle there also when I was watching that one unfold.

If the gun makers decide to chamber up an AFFORDABLE, non-custom, Valkyrie bolt gun it would be a huge boost for the 6.8 family but if the 6.8 popularity has not been enough to get it done I seriously doubt the Valkyrie will push it over the top. Too many other cartridges o the shelf that leave it in the dust for most of us.

I will tell you this in Illinios bc has no bearing. I have 0 need for a slow azz .224 cartridge. All you need is a 1/4 mile laser cuz you cant shoot through a fence row or creek brush.
