Sierra gave me some loads with a simple phone call. I ran Reloader 22 wth their 120 HPBT with great results. Re-22 also ran well with the Berger 115 VLD and Barnes 100 TTSX.

I think I settled with Barnes 80 grain TTSX over 58.5 grains H4831SC. It's in the 3100'ish range from my 22" tube and goes into a SUB-SUB hole.

I just started experimenting with RL-17 in the 25/06 A.I. I am going off of 4350 data as a guideline (supposed to be in the same burning range) and working up. Though I haven't cronographed the loads, it impacts higher than my RL-19 load, so there is definitely higher velocities. Grouping is not bad either.

I've heard good things about RL-17 in the short-mags and anxious to see how they perform in the 25-06AI. The higher impact isn't always an accurate indicator of velocity. That's just a barrel node thing.

Could be, there was more recoil too with the same bullet and less powder. I forgot one piece for my chronograph, so I will hopefully chrono next time. Grouping showed potential, no pressure signs at 55.4 grains, will work up from there. 95 Berger & 100 SMK, Norma brass, Fed 210 Match.

The most knowledgable 25-06AI guy I know told me that there is only 3 powders to use for this round.

RL-22, RL-22 or RL-22

Or in a pinch you can get buy with RL-22

So far I haven't been able to prove him wrong.

What kind of performance are you and him getting?

I am more then impressed with the 30" tube and 3900fps. The wheels are already spinning.....

How much powder you guys burning? How long is case life with those loads? Accuracy at distance??

Kind of makes a 257 Weatherby seem like more trouble than its worth, doesn't it.

I don't know about his brass life, but on my rifle, I am not seeing any pressure indications that would make me think that it would be shorter than normal. I usually only go 5-6 loadings before tossing brass anyway. To me it's not worth the trouble annealing brass when brass is only $25 anyway.

As far as load, start at 60 gr. and EASE your way up.

I am getting around .4 to .5" at 100. I have seen pictures of his rifle shooting under 1" @ 200 yds.

Wow, thats like approaching 257STW or Banshee speeds. I've heard of guys getting 2900-4000 w/ 257 Weatherby.

I really haven't played with the speed aspect of this cartridge. I have been loading for accuracy, but I am really curious what it will do. I want to push its limits and see where it will take me. Mainly why I wanted to try RL-17, since many are reporting higher vel. for many cartridges.

Thanks for the input about RL-22, definitely sounds like its worth a looks see.

It's a little optimistic. I would say more around 3500 fps, but I haven't played with 115's
