MDWS-Mad Dog Weapon Systems is working on a wildcat that he is calling .270 Wolverine. It uses 5.56 brass that is expanded to
accept .270 bullets. Also uses the standard 5.56 bolt.
It is in the testing stages as of right now. I do believe that they have hit 2600 FPS with a ninety grain bullet and I believe that they have hit 2500 with a 110 grain bullet.
He has been getting a little direction from H at Arp. I do believe that barrels have been ordered and they are getting their die sizing near completion.
Should be a pretty good cat-low cost brass-pretty good selection of bullets-standard 5.56 bolts and mags.

This is about a .277 Wolverine not a 6.8SPC-not even close.
Go read about it before you form your opinion. oh, I forgot you you know everything.

6.8=.277. Get it yet?

Wow.....

The .277 wolverine looks like a nice cartridge - would like to see what is does with a 90gr ttsx on a deer.

Oh, OK, we will just call Jack O` Conners .270 Winchester a 6.8 Winchester.
I get it now.

Wow.....

He is talking about the bullet used in the cartridge not the chamber, and yes technically you could probably call it a 6.8 win becuase that is the metric equivilent. A 270 bullet is the same as a 6.8spc bullet and the same bullet for the .277 wolverine. You follow??

sounds like another cartridge designed to fit an ar15 platform for use on big game, that will be marginal on big game. maybe fine for the smaller deer species, but as the distances increase, the effectiveness will decrease. personally i like to use plenty of gun, you never know when you will misjudge the wind, the range, or the animal moves at the last second, or your only shot is not a perfect one.

for deer, mule deer here, my lower end cartridge is a 243 winchester, but i prefer a 27-06 or a 264 win mag, or 300wsm.

i prefer the 27-06 nomeclature, but 6.8 winchester works fine too!

I know all about the 6.8 and .270 bullets. I have a 6.8 that shoots .270 bullets. 2muchgun bought up the 6.8 and the 6.5. Just another forum troll adding no constructive discussion what so ever.
