A buddy of mine is lookin at these 2 uppers for a deer gun. He will be handloading to. Keep costs down. Im leaning towards the bushmaster. Any opinions.

I don't think the .450 is a legal deer cartridge in Indiana. I know the .458 is. You may want to verify.

Fantastic! Thanks for the heads up. I'm in the process of moving to an AR for deer. I think the 450 may be a better choice.

The 6.8 would be a better deer round. Why would you do jail time. 1.8" is the case length, nothing illegal about that.

I thuaght it had a bigger bullet than that. Have to look at the Beowulf too.

Only reason I need to justify a .458 Socom over a .450 Bushmaster...
Pistol bullets vs rifle bullets. Penetration and terminal performance of the Bushmaster just can't touch the Socom on performance.
