switched to these out of my encore and they shoot great just wondering how they percform on criters. Using the federal premium load ouot of a 26" encore

Actually, they "should" be fur friendly from the 22/250; I shot a big groundhog this summer at 80 yards with a 50 gr. Blitz King from my .223 and there was no exit....

They are a bit expensive (I bought a box by mistake as I was intending to buy the Sierra 50 gr Blitz which is a different, cheaper Sierra bullet made for .222/.223 velocities).

However, the Blitz King is made to hold up to 22/250 velocities. Shoot a coyote with one and report back to us.

Have shot a number of groundhogs with the 55 g Blitzkings out of my 250 and they are definitely not fur friendly on them from any angle or shot location. Coyotes maybe different though. If I were looking for a fur friendly round I may test it once but think I'd look for another bullet.

I have had mixed results with them. I shot a coyote with them out of my .223 AR. Actually, shot it twice since the first one didn't put it down. The first shot hit just behind the shoulder and did not exit. Second shot was a "Texas heart shot" and it blew it open pretty badly.

Shot a bobcat with them; again just behind the shoulder and there was no exit. Very fur friendly in this case.

Shot a few groundhogs with them. Left moderate size exit wounds but did not tear them up too badly.

It's all going to depend on where you hit them. I shot a Coyote that ran in and satdown at an slight angle facing me at 100 yards. The shot hit him in the chest and started out his shoulder when it hit the bone it almost took the whole shoulder and leg off. Other times I have hit a Coyote in and out no problems.
This is basically the same as any other bullet.

When I was chasing loads for accuracy the Hornady bullets I was using would only give me about a 3 inch group at two hundered yards I switched to the 55 gr Blitzkings and my groups closed up to 1 inch at two hundred yards.

For the last month I have been shooting a 55 BK out of my 22-250 going about 3525 fps. So far I have shot 16 coyotes at ranges from 25 yards to about 250 yards. As a general rule, bang/flop with great big holes. Not at all fur friendly.

I am shhoting them in a 220 swift at about 3900 fps and with a good solid body hit they will stay inside, Just a 22cal entry wound. Fringe hits arent pretty [beeep]

Like most modern pills, I've foud those BKs to be quite reponsive to the velocity they are used at. They tend to have a slightly tougher base than a lot of expolive pills and they do blow up a bit. They are a good mix of both qualities. I've used them on goat and rabbit. The worked very well on both at the higher 22-250 velocities I use (3750 fps RL15)

I have had great results on coyotes with the 50 gr blitzking. Most often no exit. One slipped in beside the eyeball, no entry no exit. The head was a little mushy though.
