I'll add this... Ive got an even dozen rifles in the predator/varmint category, some I got good deals on and some belonged to exes and some I inherited, but the one I reach for first and foremost, and treat like a fine bench rifle is a Krieger barreled 527 with a 4.5-14 mark 4 target. It on its third barrel and each one shoots like a carbon copy of the one before. 5 seasons, 2 misses and over 250 kills on game from red fox to hogs to cow elk. It hits like a sledge. I lost one (O-N-E) coyote last year, the first unrecoverable critter ever with the rifle. I killed 3 in that stand and just wasn't paying attention when he got up and drug himself off. I'll take the blame.
I shoot up to 90 gr bullets, but really favor the 65-80s depending on game. Shoot a lot of "steel matches" (88 Berger) as we call them and it is just as good as the PPC for that purpose. Awesome accuracy at point blank, and less than 3/4 moa to 500, which is all the room I have to practice. If I could dope wind a little better it would shoot 3/8 moa at long range, hardly a hint of vertical.
It's also shot many many groups in the teens and a couple of zeros in the local "deer match." I'd say average accuracy is 3/8" at 100-200. Keep in mind it's not a 10-13 lb gun with a stiff action. These are bipod/rear bag groups from a micro Mauser.
Anyway, I think I've professed my love enough. Send me that PM when you're ready.
