6mm WOA

I have become the owner of a 6mm WOA. I have googled load data, but it almost always ends up a debate between the various 6mm's in the AR platform. Does anyone have any info for the 6mm WOA. I will be single loading 90 thru 105 gr bullets.

Cartridge trim to length

Powder selection for 90 thru 105 gr bullets (Varget/RE-15 or others)

Starting loads for those powders

Trim the same as a standard 6.8. It's just a shoulder bumnp over the orginal.

Load data. Grab some top level 6 PPC data and move up. The WOA is only sightly larger and it is an excellent start.

RL-15, 8208 are both good.

Don't have any data for the 90's to the 105's. But what GL said is straight up. I will have to check what I have at home for data that I got from John over at WOA when I got my upper and dies from him.

I'm a huge believer in the cartridge. Are you shooting paper or critters? Just curious why the heavy bullets.

You'll have a hard time beating out RL-15 with anything 80 gr or larger. It's really the cats meow for the heavy bullets.

Trim length is 1.680. I wouldn't trim them before the first firing, they're gonna grow a lot. Also, you're likely going to have to bottom out your sizing die and then some to get them to fit your chamber for the first firing. I always do.

I think for hunting you're kinda crippling the rifle shooting anything over 90 gr, but it is yours and I'll help you out any way I can.

Have you got your dies from John yet? Should be a redding sizer and Forster seater.

Pm me your cell # and I'll text you a picture of johns load data for the 107s.

Have a good evening!

I'll add this... Ive got an even dozen rifles in the predator/varmint category, some I got good deals on and some belonged to exes and some I inherited, but the one I reach for first and foremost, and treat like a fine bench rifle is a Krieger barreled 527 with a 4.5-14 mark 4 target. It on its third barrel and each one shoots like a carbon copy of the one before. 5 seasons, 2 misses and over 250 kills on game from red fox to hogs to cow elk. It hits like a sledge. I lost one (O-N-E) coyote last year, the first unrecoverable critter ever with the rifle. I killed 3 in that stand and just wasn't paying attention when he got up and drug himself off. I'll take the blame.

I shoot up to 90 gr bullets, but really favor the 65-80s depending on game. Shoot a lot of "steel matches" (88 Berger) as we call them and it is just as good as the PPC for that purpose. Awesome accuracy at point blank, and less than 3/4 moa to 500, which is all the room I have to practice. If I could dope wind a little better it would shoot 3/8 moa at long range, hardly a hint of vertical.
It's also shot many many groups in the teens and a couple of zeros in the local "deer match." I'd say average accuracy is 3/8" at 100-200. Keep in mind it's not a 10-13 lb gun with a stiff action. These are bipod/rear bag groups from a micro Mauser.

Anyway, I think I've professed my love enough. Send me that PM when you're ready.

The barrel came with dies and brass. Brass is Remington with large primer pockets (Darn). I will find some with small prime pockets if these don't work out. Going to shoot paper at 3/5/600 yards, hence the larger bullets. Thanks for the help.

I run R-P 6.8 brass and like it better than my hornady & ssa SRP brass. I have yet to loose any or have other issues. I run the 6x6.8 (just about the same thing) to 700 yards with 55-95g bullets on a Savage bolt action so I can seat them out a bit longer.
