For guys that are used to shooting big magnums, the 7/08 has MILD recoil. To a guy that is used to shooting 223's, 22/250's, and 243's, the 7/08 Kicks hard
I have to agree, I have a Rem 700 .308 it is great for deer but when shooting from the bench or on the silhouette range, after about 20 - 40 rounds I'm ready for a break.Blue Dot loads and lighter bullets are one answer. But..
I'm looking at going to .260 in a med.contour 22in. barrel as I don't think 7/08 is enough of a change. This will be used for calling, deer and target shooting .
