Like I said, "it ain't over 'till it's over"! BRB and got up at o'dark thirty to meet and try to intercept some wild pigs that we'd been patterning for a little over a week.........BUT, they didn't show! For the past three days, you could almost set your watch by them.
After failure had been realized, we tucked our tails, gathered our gear, and headed to town for some brunch. Afterwards we did a ride through one of our favorite farms, and low and behold, out in the field about 250 yds., was a big fat groundhog! Never being one for packing light, I dug down through the day and night pig rifles, a deer rifle, pellet rifle, and down on the bottom was a VSSF in 220 swift!
After donning my blaze orange hat(deer season, gotta be legal, yannow!),while standing on the ground(staying legal!) I took a hasty rest across the hood.........
55 grain SBK. in one ear and out the other! That makes fifty one........so far for 2011. I don't think most of them have gone to sleep yet.....
