What sound or call did you use? I've been wanting to call in a fox.

i have been using a lot of coyote vocalizations on the foxpro..get a lot of answers, just shy about coming in...gonna try some distress this weekend and see how it goes

o yea....not far at all...
gonna try and get some permission to hunt quiet a bit of land over around Charlie Ky...around louisa..

I went out for a while yesterday evening, but didn't have any luck. For the heck of it before I left I hit coyote locator on my caller, and there was 7-8 started howling on a knob above me.I don't know why they wouldn't come to the call while it was daylight unless they seen me set up.The ground is covered in snow and all I have is camouflage,so I probably stuck out like a big tree. lol!!

ahh probably didn't stick out too bad, thats usually all I wear is camo, I always try to get something behind me though to break up my outline...did u try howling back at them?

Started out with Freaky Sqeaks and a Mojo Critter about the 25 min mark I switched to jack rabbit destress and he ran in after the MoJo and Stopped behind a bush so I couldn't get a clean shot.
I guess he smelled where i set the caller and decoy and hauled a$$, I let one fly on the run but missed. I'll look for him another day !!

Me and my buddy set out early yesterday to kill some yotes and all we killed was time.. We set up on about 10 different stands on 3 different strip jobs where we knew there was plenty of coyotes. We were playing the wind the best that we could and tried just about every call we had in those 10 stands, and none produced a coyote. We tried the howls, distressed cottontail, jackrabbit, and rodents. We sat up in open areas, along fence lines in hay bottoms, and in underbrush, no luck.. Could anyone give me some helpful advice and tell me if I'm doing something wrong, or is it just bad luck???

If you done 10 stands on 3 strip jobs in 1 day I would say you are not giving it enough time on stand
for coyotes Give them at least 30+ mins and more for cats

I agree and also would wonder how they got to these strip jobs. If it was an ATV maybe that scared them away. I tried using my ATV today to hunt a new place with a lot of mountainous terrain and came across some good looking open areas to call but nothing came in. I couldn't help but wonder if the ATV didn't clear them out before I got started (I waited about 20 minutes after getting there before I started calling). Maybe it was that or maybe just a bad day! ha! Who knows.

i also use my atv, but give it plenty of time, and try to park a good distance away....what strip jobs are you hunting CoyoteStalker???

called a coyote in saturday morning...was hunting a holler in the timber below an open bottom on a strip job, using some vole squeaks and the wacky woodpecker on the FP..was actually trying to call in a cat...forgot my shooting sticks in the back of the rhino, and coyote caught me raising my gun,..enough said..lol

After hunting Thursday evening with my buddy and seeing 3 'yotes, I finally dropped one @ 336 yds after he missed it @ 150 (sorry no pic). I just had to go at it Friday morning and it was cold as [beeep]. I got on stand and about 30 mins of the bunny blues this female (32 lbs) just couldn't resist the temptation, I sent the V-MAX from the ole 223 down range and "WHACK" right in the lungs at around 225 yds DRT. This is the third hunt of the year for me so far and I've seen six total with no shot on one, missed one, and dropped four. Hopefully I'll have more pics after this weekend. Good luck to everyone else.
