Anyone tried the Critter Sitter?

I too would be interested. I usually carry both a shotgun and rifle. Never could get the hang of a front carry with the AR, so I use a standard sling. It'd be nice to attach the shotgun to the Critter Sitter for those hikes in and out.

Sorry guys, I'm not a very techy guy (I still use a flip phone lol) when it comes to electronic, picture posting, computer stuff. But I'll try to describe it as best I can.

The leather scabbard has straps stitched to it that attach it to the horse saddle. After cutting the stitches to remove the straps, and measuring for their new position on the leg, I stamped out two slots for each of the three straps in the scabbard (think belt loops). Run the straps through the "belt loops" and pop rivet them to the opposite leg exactly like the shooting sticks pouch...The leather straps are a little thick and a bit tight between the legs of the stool when folded. I've seen scabbards made of cordura and the straps are heavy webbing, these may work even better than my leather one.

My shotgun has a pistol grip and 18 inch barrel, so I had to open the seam on the scabbard a little to allow the gun to slide fully in. I can easily reach over my shoulder, grab the pistol grip and remove the gun from it's scabbard. To carry a bolt rifle forced me to make another small alteration. Because I opened the seam for the shotguns pistol grip to slide in, it allowed my rifles to slop around a bit. So, I used one of the left over buckles and pieces of strap and stitched them with a sewing awl about 3 inches from the top of the scabbard. This allows me to basically close the seam back up.

Hope this made sense guys. If not, I'll try to elaborate further.

I think I get it. Your comments make me wonder if I could figure out a way to just attach this.

I'm sure you could easily adapt that to work DesertRam.
Have you ever used 3M industrial strength Velcro? That stuff has an unbelievable grip! Maybe a strip of it down the scabbard (use the soft fuzzy side on your scabbard) and the other down the critter sitter leg to keep it from sliding. Then use the straps and wrap them around the leg and that thing would be rock solid!

The foam I used was a mixable foam rubber, more dense than "Great Stuff" but I bet it would work. Filling it with anything should deaden the ringing of the tube. It would also be lighter than what I used.
