AR-FRT questions

Do any of you own/use an FT trigger in your AR? Do you need a full auto bolt carrier group? In order to use that trigger? What are your views; pros/cons of your FRT trigger.

They are all finicky and need the right combination of carrier weight, springs, gas, and components to work right. Unless you just get lucky...which is possible.
If I had to do it all over again, I would probably have considered a 3 position drop in, or a full cassette style drop in but they are about 2x the cost of the one I chose.

I put a Hoffman Tactical SuperSafety in my 223 SBR and after messing with it for a few weeks, trying different things, i could only ever get it to rattle off 4-5 rounds before I would get a jam from a light primer strike. Didn't bother diagnosing any further.
I decided to just put it in my integrally suppressed 9mm. Direct blow back instead of gas impingement reduces the number of things needed to tune, but adds slight tweaks or mods to make it work.

But it works.

Thanks for the feedback. The FRT I'm interested in, is a drop in trigger. Not one that has to be assembled. I've watched some feedback on you tube. However, the videos I watched. They said, an FRT trigger needs a full auto bolt carrier group. I've only watched a few videos I might add.

I would assume they all need the Full Auto carrier, but i suppose since each one is designed differently. Some might not. Regardless...the extra mass alone is probably worth it to get if you don't have one already. Many or maybe even most (perhaps even all) have some form of lever that resets the trigger and that lever needs to contact the carrier.
The Semi-Auto carrier doesn't have the required material to engage the lever of (most, maybe all) FRT levers

OK, thanks.

Yes it needs a full auto carrier and works best with more gas. Mine wont cycle weak ammo in my M16a2, with a rifle gas system but works fine with real M193 pressure ammo. I haven't had a FRT or SS that wouldn't work with stock parts yet, but some needed more gas to function better or a heavier buffer to slow down the firing rate.

I have an Arizona Regulator.
It is 100% drop in and requires NO modifications to the weapon beyond requiring a Full Auto bolt and heavy buffer weight.

The device is about the size of a quarter and fits into the oval recess on the bottom of the upper. It literally drops in and removes just as easily. Move it from one rifle to another without a blink.
It is not finicky and operates flawlessly. I am so impressed with it i cannot say enough.

i have a hoffman style in a 9mm lower and i'm still fightng to get it to run right. ive recently upgraded from a Kspec 9,5 oz w/ flatwire to a 12oz buffer and wolf XP spring to try to slow the cyclic rate. best i can get is 3 before i get a hammer follow because the bcg is just outrunning the sear engagement. although i finally chrono'ed my 147 load and its running well into +P territory than a normal sub so that could have somethign to do with it. i've got another test batch to take out and see how they do.

this barrel seems to be fast though - compared to another gun at a friends i chrono'ed these loads with, i'm +200 fps so who knows.

i have not tested the new spring/buffer with 124's yet.

it otherwise function tests 100% and standard semi-auto works perfect.
