First line of relief is an antihistamine... Benadryl is best, if you don't have that any antihystamine.
For topical relief... Hydrocortisone creams. Baking Soda pastes. Ice packs. Making a paste with meat tenderizer is also supposed to work. If possible elevate the affected area, (although I realize it isn't possible in this case), and try not to scratch or rub it as much as it itches. Itching is a result of the skin stretching in area swollen, scratching or rubbing compounds blood flow to the area, and increases swelling. Any of the paste remedies coupled with the Bendadryl, the pain will subside fairly quickly, and swelling should go down over a few hours.
