Ive just got my Nikon Premier LX's for a ridiculously good deal, and want to protect them when i take them out. I have a Browning harness setup now, with a cover that the Binos go under. But dont know if it will offer enough protection.
Has anyones used the Badlands setup? pros and cons?

I havent used that one, but have heard from people that they are kinda loud when the magnets snap back together. IDK if you bowhunt or care about that. I use the alskan guide creations bino chest pack and I love it. I have converted about 6 people into buying them since I got mine. Not to mention they are made right here in the good old USA. They also have a lifetime warrenty. Here is the link.

I got mine from here though because they are cheaper.

I called and talked to Jaret Owens that invented it and he sent me one to try and said if I liked it send him a check and if not send it back to him. I ended up having a buddy buy that one and I ordered mine from Sport Optics.

Also the extra pockets are nice to carry your rangefinder and a mini flashlight or a lighter. It also has a pocket on the back for your licenses.

EDIT= I think you can get them in Kings Mountain or Desert Shadow and OD Green now.

I saw one at Scheels the other day and gave it a very thorough handling ... I was VERY impressed with how much protection they offer. Might even be overboard. I like making my own stuff so I couldn't really justify the cost...but I think it's a GREAT product.

This was the one I checked out

thanks guys, Jarheadhunter i have looked at those before but wondered how comfortable they are and how fast they are to get your binos out. also how big of a rangefinder can you fit in the pockets?

i have heard the magnets can get loud to but with practice you can limit that. It is rather large, but the AGC looks little big too so not much diferance, at least from the pics

any other info on either of these would be great

here is what I use when i hunt hard and need something to good enough to protect my swarov's, i know the manufacturer and he sent a me a couple pairs to try out, waterproof, durable, quiet, front back and two side pockets for extra calls and windicator powder, cleaning cloths etc...

bigsky I have never had a problem with the time it takes to get them out of the pouch. As far as comforbility I hardly notice its there. Way better than a hrness system. Size wise I don't think its bigger than the badlands I think it might be smaller actually. I will try and get some pics of mine on tonight so you can see.

When I am in an area that I will be using my bino's a lot I don't buckle the front buckle and the top stays over unless the wind was to catch it or you open it. All you have to do is reach down and grab them. It takes maybe a sec longer then on a harness. I also like the fact that they don't bounce of your chest like with a harness they stay tight againt your chest and don't move.

I have used them on an elk hunt with a pack and they didn't get in the way of the shoulder straps like some people say the badlands does because the straps on that are pretty bulky. It also has no interference when drawing or releasing a bow.

I know when I first got my Swaro's I would keep them on a harness and leave the rubber caps on the front and back of then so I didn't get anything in them. It took me 3x as long to get the caps off so I could look at something than it does to just pull them out now. I use it while coyote hunting and it's pretty quite if you need to slip them out to check the area for a coyote thats help up.

By the looks of the pocket you should be able to fit any current nikon, leica, swarovski or whatever rangfinder in the front pocket. As long as it looks like one of these.

Just for demo purpuses. You know if it is the old square style it probably wont fit.

Sorry it's so long hope it helps you a little bit.

Here is a review someone did on it. http://ireviewgear.com/backpacks/alaskan-guide-creations-bino-pack-review
