Barbwire fences?

I do some traveling in between city's while at work and see places that may be a good stand. But usually there is a barbwire fence in the picture. And not knowing if the stand would be good or may be terrible. I usually never go try the new place out. Anyone hate climbing over fences as much as me. I have tried a few of the locations and am surprised how things look different driving a big truck then get out to the location and think I should have a shotgun rather than the 22-250. I grew up hunting and grandparents had a farm. Its not like I haven't clumb a fence as Grampa used to say. I am now at 50 and weigh 220 and don't hop over them like I use to. Crawl under now that is funny, I have my share cloths that have a tear in them cuz my old butt wasn't as low as I had thought. Anyway I have been thinking it would be neat having something made to assist climbing over. Heck something may be out their that I don't know about. Think this may work? I use to make ladders for tree stands out of 1" tubing how bout making a ladder say 50" tall with two steps. One 18" from bottom then another at 36 a top rail and a 2" piece of pipe welded at the top to slide over a T post and a stake in the bottom to keep from kicking out. Then I wouldn't have to worry about the wire slipping down while strattled. Am I thinking to much like a City boy gramps used that saying also. Anyway this could just be thrown in the back of the truck drive up to the location pull off jump over fence and give it a quick try. How bout some feedback
thanks, Sparky

Here is a t-post stepper. Got this a couple years ago from allpredatorcalls, com for about $20.00. Not sure who sells them now. They are the berries for crossing barbwire fences. Just slip it on the t-post about 12 inches above the ground and it provides a step on each side of the post to climb over.

I've carried a T-Post Step for years, however, when I hit 50 I really started to appreciate the thing....mandatory equipment for old, beat-up, fat guys who still want to get around...

I would like to get one of these, but I checked All Predator calls and Nite lite and it appears that neither one of them has them anymore. Anybody know of another source or have an extra one they would be willing to part with?

Thanks...

Ok probably overkill but I some rusted tubing and decided to mess around in the garage. I figure I will throw it in the truck and give it a try. Hope I get the picts downloaded the first time.

Here in Michigan we never get a chance to cross fences. If you belong there you use the gate. The first PM hunt, many moons ago, MM showed my hunt partner and I the T-step, we owned two when we got back home. Every trip back out to AZ. they are in the back and used alot. Would not hunt out there without one.

Shameless

None available anywhere I checked. I was told at several places that they are no longer being manufactured. Anybody want to sell an extra???

I don't like them. They can be wobbly. not all tpost are the same size. Not all post are tpost. And if you or it slips guess where you might land. Best bet is to roll under the bottom strand. You can prop up the bottom strand with a stick, and roll under easy. Of course everyone should unload your gun before putting it thru the fence. And do the farmer a favor, after going under the fence, take your leatherman and tighten up the fence wires.

That stepper is nice but wouldn't get much use out here as almost all fence post are made out of wood logs! I always just try and find the two post that a spread apart the most and push down in the middle with my hand or the butt of the rifle!

I've found it easier to just cut the friggin fence and walk through. Drive through if I feel like it.

Kidding. Kidding.

I crawl under the majority if they're tight. Over if loose. Between strands sometimes. I gotta lot of sewn places to prove all methods..
