Skip the sightmark too.

Any of the multiples I listed are easily better.

I like my 2-7X and/or 3-9 for that range. The 2X is great for close up shots and the 7X if they hang up a bit farther out. I feel the Sightron 2-7x35 is about the best value listed. Followed closely by the Nikon Prostaff 2-7X32.

Look at the Nikon P-Series rings/mounts for a solid and economical solution there.

Limited lifetime

What's that mean? Limited to the original owners lifetime? Leupold will cover any scope no matter who bought it I believe. So that's worth something. And vortex will to. But where vortex is better is on the electro optics. I think leupold is only 2-3 years on them. Vortex don't care. Even a house fire they cover it I heard.

Covers manufacturing defects.

Leupold is a Forever warranty, transferable, no worries...just the same as Vortex, Burris, and now Bushnell.

Throw the sig optics in there now I think also. It's a great time for good optics right now

If you want a sight mark or barska do it they work period! Are they top of the line not even close but they do function well the sight marks scopes are built strong but along with that comes heavy. Its also about how much you want to spend. i can own 15 barskas or sightmarks for the price of one night force, if i was filthy rich you can bet i would have a Night Force ,,,, are they worth 15 x the money Not even close....

If this post keeps going the direction it is, I will lock it down. I am getting tired of the same people always wrecking posts. If you have a problem with someone, keep it off the board. It is not going to be tolerated and will be dealt with. I am tired of removing comments that are there to insult someone.

I personally have not had any luck when purchasing real low end optics..I personally would try and get you budget up around 150-200 and you could get into a sightron or a nikon prostaff and be way happier in the end. I guess I have never seen the point in purchasing an $800-$1000 rifle and strapping real cheap glass on it. I have a couple pro staffs and I'm very happy with them

To build low priced optics you have to cut something whether it is glass, coating, labor or quality control. That's why so many will have problem and a few will think they are greàt. One day they happen to get a batch of decent glass, the assembler had a good day, pulled parts that were a good fit and got everything right. If you get one of those, buy lottery tickets. Remember their warrenty they build them so cheap that they expect to replace a lot of them.

ya I have a 2-7 right now and it's just not a good fit for me. I looked through some 1-4's and really liked how it felt. Plus trying to get away from the big and bulkiness that comes with them scopes so it fits on an ar and is far enough forward is a hassle at times too.

Leupold VX-1 1x4x20mm Shotgun scope with duplex($199), decent glass and works very good for hunting out to 300 yards for me. Reticle is a little coarse for paper puching but for coyotes it is fast and reliable.

This was shot with a 90+ year old gun with the Leupold.

midway has the bushnell AR 1x4 for 139 might be a bit heavy but its the right magnification you want ball park price and its designed for the AR, might be a bit on the heavy side but its worth a look
