Take a look at the Pentax Pioneer, it is a rebadged Burris FF2, or the Intensity line offered at natchezz, they are going to be rebadged as weavers next year. They will put you under your price range quite a bit. I bought a mueller 8.5-25 in mildot earlier this year but haven't been able to look through it yet.

Give the Mueller a look, I have two of them and i really like them. I always carry a Barska in my day pack..you never know when you will have to beat off a killer ground hog!
