If I have time I might let the bore soak with one of the foaming bore cleaners for a few hours or maybe even overnight. Then patch the gunk out and flush with a little Kroil, dry patch then a lightly oiled patch and back in the safe. Otherwise if in a hurry Montana Extreme Copper Killer is very effective for copper. Powder fouling requires something different if/when so inclined.
I too like the foaming bore cleaners. And less scrubbing the bore means less wear on it as well.
I was skeptical of them at first but now after using them for several years I am quite the fan. Not always is the easiest thing to use is the best thing to use but in this case that does seem to be the case.
I like to use sweets 762. Lather it up on a nylon brush and scrub it a few mins. I use clp to clean it out and a patch with some blue goop mixed with Lucas thinned out.
For only copper I use Otis's copper solvent remover. It did a good job on some of my rifles last year. I shot with some guys this summer that swear by boretech. These guys shoot a lot, and love it.

Barnes CR10 is the product I ended up going with and no complaints.
I have seen sweets work well too.
Hoppes #9 Benchrest Copper Remover or one of the Foaming cleaners if you have lots of time.
