Best copper removing solvent

Wipe Out for me, But I carry Barns CR10 in my range box.

I would rate these in this order

#1 Wipe out and accelerator, and Patch out for foam type.

#2 Barns CR 10

#3 The Montana stuff.

I've used Sweets 7.62 with good results. Got blue patches after Hoppes. I felt the brain cells dying during use though.

I just tried the KG stuff since it doesn't smell as bad as sweets and I can clean in the house. Seemed to work pretty good on the two rifles.

I have used Sweets and CR-10. Both stink up the house and my wife hates it. I have wanted to try something different as well since accuracy in my .204 has started dropping off.

I switched to Patch-Out before I bought a bore scope, and after I had bought a few new rifles. After bore scoping my old rifles that were cleaned with Sweets and Barnes CR-10 I was horrified at the condition of the bores on those rifles. The Sweets and the CR-10 can cause pitting. I am convinced of this now, FWIW. All of those rifles still shoot well, but they are pitted. All barrels since the switch are cleaner and pit free. Btw, when I first got my bore scope and was scanning all of my rifles, there were a couple Sweets only cleaned barrels, they were pitted and copper striped. pitting was through out and striping was in the first 8 or 9 inches. Now with the Patch-Out the new barrels are pit free and copper free. Take it all for what it is worth.

Wipe-Out foaming bore cleaner with Wipe-Out accelerator. I've used a ton of different copper solvent products and that combo has worked best for me without any of the risks that come along with the ammonia based solvents.

DON'T USE SWEETS IF YOU USE SHOOTERS CHOICE

Read where a bunch of you guys mentioned using Sweets, well SC put out a warning years ago about mixing solvents...since then, I just plain refuse to use Sweets, there is other stuff that works just as well. Any solvent will get it clean if you have some patience.

After decades of scrubbing barrels to get the bores nice and clean finding something that you simply sprayed into the barrel and an hour or two (or overnight if it's really filthy) later you got a clean barrel is wonderful. I would give up a while lotta things before I gave up my Wipe-Out.

KG-12 is your solution.

I've never used the accelerator but I do have a bottle of the liquid and it works good but...

I have found the foam leaves more product in the bore than a patch does with the liquid stuff. I think that's important when working with extremely fouled bores and when soaking overnight.
