I have a set of Warne Tacticals, on one rifle, and an
Armalite one piece mount on the other. If I have no
intention of swapping out sighting systems, the Warne rings
are a good choice. Those Les Baer, in the previous post, do
look very SOLID as well. But beyond the cool factor, and
possible name recognition, they don't have anything over
the Warne rings. As for a quick disconnect, or maximum
mounting options, the Armalite one piece is as good as one
piece mounting system. I use mine on a carbine, where one
day it wears a Hologram sight, for close quarters, and
brush country predator hunting, or another day it wears
the Armalite one piece, with a scope for longer range work.
One thing the one piece does is it gives one many options
to mount the scope, relative to the eye position, when
one mounts the rifle. It works especially well for those
that want to mount the scope very far forward, which is
common on AR-15s.
