I used to work with a guy that had a pet bobcat. It liked to wrestle and hit him with its paw, but always kept its claws retracted so it wouldn't hurt him. It escaped a few times and would return, usually with a chicken from his hen house and would cover it with the grass in the pen. He came home one day and the door was open and it was gone. He thinks someone stole it. That was years ago.
We had a few pet coons growing up. The first one came from a litter dad found sawing an old hollow tree off the fence that had blown over. He was fun to play with, but eventually got too aggressive to mess with much. We'd take him to the creek to play and give him crawdads out of the minnow trap there. He'd get knee deep dunking it as he ate. His ol tail stood straight up. He didn't like to get it wet. My younger brother let it out one day to play and one of the dogs killed it.
