cabelas LED light mount

hey guys, just got my cabelas led light and rigged it to my AR, when I get a chance to get to a saw I'll be able to mount it more square in the mount but it should work fine, pretty solid as it is, and NO plastic mount

its another ring mounted upside down, the base that would normall attch to the rail on the gun now holds the dovetail of the light nice and tight( might need to cut a small groove across the lights mounting bracket to slide over the screw in the mount)

I did the same thing. I had to take out the dremel and notch the light rail mount in order for the ring to fit solid. Man I was afraid I was going have it slightly off. But it worked out nice. Measure twice, cut once. I'll post up the pictures once I get a chance to put it to work.

WW,

Did you test this light yet what are your opinions on it???

How do you like the light Andrew? I am interested in one. I have read on the Cabelas site (reviews) that some are having wiring issues. I have a Cyclops LED spotlight that uses 3, 3 Watt LED's and it is very bright!

I'm using mine for depredation pigs. After that first shot all mayhem will break loose and quick swinging actions to bag a couple more oinkers could move around the light. I just like the peace of mind that my mount is rock solid and going nowhere. I haven't got out there yet but I'd easily be able to put crosshairs on the body of a pig at 120 yards. Haven't had the chance to test it further.

Quote: I just received my 532 lumen Cabelas LED light. I bought it even after reading the pressure switch problems. Excitedly,I opened the package and found out that the pressure switch wasn't working. Thinking it could be me I picked up the light to look at it closer and the switch wire fell right out of the housing. I need the light and really don't want to wait for shipping so I opened it and found the problem as stated. The - and + wires are very thin and the only thing that holds the whole cable and switch to the housing are the two solder points. So I soldered it back with a tad extra wire in the housing for give and globbed hot glue(as suggested byRlight) on the inside to eliminate it from be pulled out again. Also make sure you seal the grommet/wire area. It's a easy passage for water. You shouldn't have to do that but it works like a charm now and it sure is bright. Also, I'd secure it with a scope ring for a solid mount. Took it out the front door and I would be able to put crosshairs on a pig(depredation tag hunting) at 100 yards easy I think. Now, after the repairs, I'm pleased. Here's a look at my new toy.

I posted this on another thread. I love it. The necessary modifications were easy and not a big deal to me.

if you buy batteries like surefires, in the 12 pack, they aer alot cheaper than buying em 2 at a time, I have really had time to give this light a testing, from when I did have it out I thought it was ok. but seeing I havent called in any sort of animal( I suck at this hunting) I cant say just how far I can ID an animal

my pressure switch just broke. I don't even use it. I just pressed to see what would happen and I got my answer... nothing. That's OK, I use the push "ON" button anyway. Time to clip off the wire.

In this day and age... everything should be wireless!
