Camo Facemask for Predator Hunting

I am curious if there is someone who may have a camo facemask on the market designed for calling predators.

99% of the ones avaialble have no opening for a mouth call and are of poor quality. Possibly there is a mask out there that I am not familiar with that would be perfect, (or close to it). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

Is there anyone who can send me in the right direction? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Thanks!

Rusty, I use a hat from Cabelas that has a built in mesh face mask. Bought it a couple of years ago. No mouth opening but it wasn't nothing a pocket knife couldn't handle. I wear it all of the time except when its really cold here.(in the 40s) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif its is AZ. I have no problem using a hand call if I choose to use one.

There are a few companies that make a mask that is on an elastic band that resembles a veil in the front. You pull it up from around your neck when on stand. The veil portion of the mask, that covers from your nose down, is a mesh breathable material. I have been through several different types and always come back to this one because of it's simplicity. When the stand is done, I just pull it down so it hangs around my neck until the next stand. Think it cost me $12.

Here you can see it around my neck.

I've hated most of the facemasks I've tried but I recently bought the King's Desert Shadow full facemask and like it better. It has a mouth hole and it has two elastic straps to keep the eye hole in better position. It was a well thought out design. You can find them on huntingillustrated.com

I tried one that was made for Turkey calling/hunting and had a real problem with it fogging up my glasses...

I was wandering through a farm store, while out of town in their sporting goods area, and found a fine mesh one (Mosqitoes?), and it works great unless the weather is real cold and then I slip on a baklava that I used to use on a motorcycle under it..

I have a couple like Scott. They work pretty good. When the weather turns colder I have two full facemasks. One in snowcamo and one in Mossy oak brush. They both have mouth holes. The holes were a little on the small side so I cut them and had my mom sew them up so they wouldnt fray. I think I got them both at Cabelas. I will try and put up a link when I get some time later today.

Thanks everyone!

The mask from King's World is exactly what I was looking for. Tim, (tt35) found the perfect mask and I have it on order.

Predator Masters comes through again!

rustydog,i bought the king's desert shadow half mask for the coloration....it's way lighter than all the ones i've seen.(out here where it's mostly dead yella grass)

i like M2D camo but their facemask is bulky and hot.....hopefully they will bring out a ventilated, liteweight version before to long.

a Christmas wish......

I use a Cabelas facemask:

With a pair of scissors I cut out an oval shaped mouth opening. The material is a really tight knit no-see'um netting, not very breathable, talk about hot and causing perspiration. It would fog up my sunglasses and rifle scope while shooting. What I ended up doing to create more venilation was to heat up a small dia. nail with a torch and 'poke' a bunch of holes around the nose area. This helped a great deal, I also poked a bunch of holes in the ear areas, which helped out the hearing end of it. This seemed to take care of steaming up the optics.

I'm really don't like facemasks and wonder sometimes if they're worth it.

Face paint for me. Easy to put on and to take off. Dont need to paint the whole face just break up the outline. And of course my goutee blends in well also.

I use the camo mesh type. I see a couple of people use face paint. Is the current face paint better than the old stuff. By better I mean easier to remove. The few times that I used it many years ago, it took a half of a jar of cold cream and a half an hour to get it off. I swore I would never use it again, and haven't. I remember it glaring pretty bad in the sun too. I was using some stuff called "Camo Compact" that had four colors in a compact with a mirror I believe.

Rascoloso, I use that stuff in early bow season and it comes off with a wash cloth and soap and water. The black is the worst.

bass pro has mesh ones for like 3 bucks and it works fine for me . The mesh is so fine i can work a closed read call right through it without a problem. However i think i'll get another one and cut a hole in it , no problem its 3 bucks !

Back in days of old, we burned a cork to dull the glare of lights for football. Just smeared it on our cheeks.
I still use it for my face, ears, etc. Works and can be washed off real easy with a wet paper towel. Fools turkeys to. If you miss any and stop anywhere on the way home, it just looks like a dirty face. Cheap, easy, doesn't fog glasses and doesn't get in the way of anything

What Doubleclutch said +1

wine bottle cork and a bic lighter.
tourch the end and streak your face.
easier than the camo paints to clean.
