CCW Weapon of choice

I know it is uncool, but untuck that shirt and your options are huge. As in full size 1911 will hide under the tail. Sure is cooler with a little air circulating too. I assume you don't carry in the arena, so tuck it back in before you ride.

Sandy hicks thank you! I am thinking about just wearing an untucked t-shirts this summer so i will be able to carry a double stack 9 mm with spare mag. With everything going on in the USA i think more ammunition is what i am gonna go for thank you!

Just remember that without something between you and your holster will more than likely leave a raw spot on your side. Maybe a button up shirt with a light tank top underneath to combat the raw feeling. It's uncomfortable stuff that makes people leave the weapon at home. Just a thought.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Thank you rich 1 good thought on the gun eating on me. I am starting to think more and more along the lines of a quote i heard once."carrying a gun is supposed to be comforting not comfortable." Cannot remember who said it though.

Thank you GC

I carry a G-43 9mm in a Crossbreed Supertuck all the time now, just wearing a t-shirt untucked. It is not uncomfortable at all. In my way of thinking it is not really any bigger than the 42, and I like 9mm ammunition options way more than 380. I live out in BFE though. Much more likely for me to shoot the slithering kind of rattlesnake than the 2-legged kind. If I lived more urban then I think I would go more high capacity and carry a G-19 instead.

I did the sub compact thing for a while a , 938 Sig, a Kimber Solo and a Shield too me these guns are too small to fight with and offer somewhat limited capacity while not being all that much easier to carry than the compacts (4" guns) I like many of the compacts and on occasion carry one of a few I keep around.
I carry a Beretta 96 FS most often, it is a full size combat gun which offers good capacity, it is a DA/SA with a decocker which allows you throw it about anywhere you want to and eliminates the need for a holster. I generally carry it just behind my hip with the grip in the small of my back (No holster) I can carry it in my motorcycle Jacket pocket or throw it in a saddle bag. Its not my favorite gun but it is easy to live with and does everything well.

Glock 30s not to big and I can get CCI snake loads to cycle it if needed. It's a .45 cal 10 shot that's between Glock 19 and a Glock 26 in size.

Maybe i should switch clothing and holsters or maybe both, but i aint givin up carrying concealed. Thank you to everyone again!

Have you ever worn a button up shirt untucked and unbuttoned? That will conceal your handgun on your hip even if your wearing an OWB type holster and have a larger pistol.

I dress around my gun. I tried doing it the other way and buying holster to wear and try to conceal my gun wearing my T Shirts untucked but my gun/holster printed too much. If you are big around the middle then wearing a shirt unbuttoned and untucked helps conceal the firearm.

Fishing shirts sold at Academy Sporting Goods Store and Gander Mountain are made out of very light weight breathable and quick drying material and can be worn over a regular cotton white T shirt easily and easily conceal your carry gun. But the shirt can be easily swept back out of the way to get to your gun when needed.

I'm wearing a small Ruger LC9S Pro right now in an Alien Gear OWB Leather Cloak Slide Holster and with a 1.5" wide Alien Gear Belt on a pair of 5.11 tactical shorts in the summer and long pants in the winter.

I'm waiting on a new OWB Flex Stealthgear holster for my Walther PPQ M2 handgun which I may start carrying again. It's a heavier gun and tends to pull my pants down too much with all the excess weight as it carries 17 rounds of 9 mm ammo.

When I tried wearing an untucked T shirt I found that with my fat body even the little Ruger LC9S Pro printed with a iwb holster. Now I am 5ft 10 inches and weight about 270 now. So I have a spare tire around my middle.

Now if you are tall or slim then you might be able to wear just a untucked T shirt and cover a small carry gun.

What I ended up doing is buying a few 3XL sized fishing shirts that are button up the front and with long tails. I normally would wear a xl or 2xl size shirt these days.

Getting the T shirt bigger may help you cover up that weapon on your body. Loose fitting clothing helps to hide the gun better than tight fitting clothing.

I dress around my gun now. I didn't do that at first. I use to normally wear shorts and a XL size regular T shirt and tennis shoes as I'm retired and don't have to dress up to go to work anymore. If I'm out shopping or just running around this is what I wore two years ago.

Since I started carrying my pistol I cover up the T shirt with the open buttoned up long tail fishing shirt that's light weight and has synthetic quick dry material which is very easy to wear over a T shirt even in the hot summer months.

Most Sheeple don't even look for concealed weapons. Saw a guy in Omaha a few years back, open carry 45 ACP, most people around never even looked twice. This was in a busy KFC at supper time...

5' 10" 240 lb, G-17 for me. Either IWB or OWB.
