Not sure where to post this, but since its about a NV hunting petition this is good.
My pal(not a member here) is the one getting this started in CO. I said Id push it where I can to get it totally legalized for everyone who wants to hunt at night in CO with no restrictions.
The ball is rolling for NV and Thermal in Colorado.
I have decided to take on a venture, this petition is the starting point to legalize the use of Night Vision and Thermal imaging in the state of Colorado.
Currently Colorado allows the use of Artificial Light on Private property along with Public property. Public property is legal when you have a permit from the National Forest Service and approval from the Division of Wildlife officer in the area you are hunting. Your chances are slim to none during Big Game season on Public.
Night Vision and Thermal Imaging is legal as long as you follow certain criteria such as:
1. It must be a damage control situation meaning harm to Livestock and / or crop
2. You must be an agent of the land or the landowner of said land
3. You must provide proof of damage
I am doing a petition drive to allow the use of Night Vision and Thermal Imaging under the same statue as the use of Artificial Light.
I have submitted my request to the Colorado DOW, next step will be signatures and then a meeting in Grand Junction to speak about my request.
Probably a year away to become legal but I need/want to start somewhere.
Will you sign the Petition when its posted?
Thank you fellow PM members.
