Hey guys,
I don't get in here to this board every day, but I do check through here fairly often. I don't know how I missed this thread!
450_Express mentioned it in a post this AM over in the Church, so I checked it right out.
I signed the online petition.
I just put a post up with the petition link in the Church directing guys over here and I sent Stu a PM asking if he'd possibly pin something to direct more traffic here. He's looking into it, there are the 501(c)3 rules to consider. I'm sure our site here would be leading the charge but for those regs.
(Has anyone checked to see whether our Guardian friends are a 501(c)3? If so, they are WAY out of compliance. Since they have staff attys they are probably OK, but the arrogant lefties sometimes think they are above the rules).
I also sent the following letter to the NRA-ILA:
I am deeply concerned about the legislation pending before the Colorado Wildlife Commission which would prohibit prairie dog hunting. I'm writing to ask for help.
This is clear incrementalism by the well-funded liberal group which is pushing this ban. They also have enlisted dangerous allies from the University of Denver Law School.
I am a member of the predatormasters.com online community and we are almost all NRA members and many, like myself and my son, life members. While we have an online petition, paper petitions and other counter measures, we are mostly a group of regular guys who have jobs, families and little time to devote to fighting this full time the way the other side is doing. Guys are bending over backwards to miss work and attend the next CWB's next important meeting. One of our guys is going to the two day meeting in May immediately after 7 straight graveyard shifts!
The other side pushing this nonsense is led by well-funded, well-educated, well-connected liberals who are plugged into the Democrat party (we've checked the officers' political donations). They have lawyers on staff and law students willing to do work pro bono. They also have access to professional p/r people.
I'm asking the NRA-ILA to fly one or more of our side's attorneys from VA who can coordinate additional needs with any other support people who necessary--such as p/r people to deal with the media. The opposition's best p/r tool is video footage of exploding PD's, which, out of context, looks just awful to the non-hunting public.
They have smooth, fast-talking lawyers who dodge the facts about controlling these pests and rely on emotion, not logic. We need somebody from the NRA-ILA out in CO on the ground to professionally execute this defense of our hunting rights.
We need professional assistance to win this thing. Personally, I don't even live in CO, but that doesn't matter. ALL hunters MUST stick together or the 'divide and conquer' strategy will prevail.
Please provide me with NRA-ILA's action plan on this matter so I can forward it to the thousands of fellow hunter-NRA members in the trenches on this. Many thanks.
Sincerely,
Matt McCauley
Now, maybe this can be won without them, but I figure their help can't hurt. I also know other of you guys have contacted them, but the squeaky wheel...
I'd like to get the newsletter too. Can I do that from my pred masters name or do I need to PM my regular email?
I'm a distance away, but I'm in this thing with you guys! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
Thanks guys, you're doing great and I'm proud to be associated with you if even on a small level! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif
Let me know what further I can do and I'll monitor the thread, too.
Finally, Claimbuster posted the political donations of the opposition's director. That is a lot of dough to donate for a guy who says he makes $46K, isn't it? Odd.
