My friend hasn't called coyote over there for the last couple of years because of the low numbers. Instead, he has made an annual trip over here to go with me instead. In other words, it's been that bad over there.
i will second that. while i dont hunt much around grand junction, when i have it seemed that the coyotes were call shy and had played the game many times before.
all the western slope has been hit hard by the current craze of new predator hunters. any place that looks good, that is near a road will likely be not very good. i find small over looked areas, and cover a lot of ground. a normal stand will occur at a mile or more from the road. some winter mornings i will see 5 or 6 other vehicles with guys calling from the road or very close to it.
even into eastern utah it seems there has been a lot of pressure.
