Howdy,

I'm an infrequent flier of both boards-here and there, what's the scoop on JH's site? Have he/they hung up the shingle?

Gary

I visited there often. Posted very seldom as almost all of those guys have forgotten more about coyote hunting than I may ever know.
Kinda like some of the "masters" here.
I may comment, but, I seldom offer advise unless I KNOW what I'm talking about. There is often someone that knows quite a bit more than I.

I would say: A bunch of opinionated, experienced, old, farts that had their own code of ethics. Other than their ethics were not tolerated. It was their house. I respected their rules, just as I respect the rules here.
One must respect another's house. Just as we respect the property of those that have seen fit to be kind enough to allow us to hunt on their property.

Naw Larry, been messing with a 17-204 again. Last year my barrel was a bust and the new barrel is working out. I think I have shot 18 coyotes with it this month and have not lost any, so thats pretty good for me. No better than I can shoot.

Stay after them

Kelly, you got me to thinking about your coyote hunting and such which makes me ask a serious question.... Did you have better success with or without the trademark cigars?

I just can't keep up Kelly.

Just when I bought some Aunt Jamima, and Acme Buckets for the stylish headgear that all of the "in the know" coyote hunters sport now-a-days, you acknowledge the cigar theory.

I haven't been on there for quite a while.....it was a different Site that had a different dementor to it,personally I just Love talking about Coyote Hunting and learning new things from all over the USA and from some many different Hunters.......here at PM it seems We get along pretty good, share our thoughts and experiences very well between each other!

I hate to see another Site go down especially with all the great info from Experienced Hunters that have contributed over the years!

Yea John-Henry didn't like and would not permit coyotes to be called yotes, yot, yodel dog, dogs, etc. in his house. Plus 17 was spoken there. He pretty much believed anything over a 20 cal or 223 was a cannon.

Coyote Gods were big on saving hides.

It was his house, so his rules. Some guys just could not get past that.

Then he got on to his politics and ran off several really good experienced coyote hunters/trappers. It was a damnn shame too. I have some good friendships still today because of that sight, and got to hunt with some very knowledgeable coyote hunters. Gathered some great info from guys who really do know their scat, so to speak.

One of the things that I really liked on that site was the fact that there were no sponsors or advertising. So if you didn't like any particular product you could freely state your piece,

Also if you shot a coyote outside of the season they guys over there were believers of. You would basically get flogged and shamed. I agree though there was a wealth of knowledge there.

Posers didn't fare well there either and got called out on their BS pretty quickly and with no punches pulled.

I liked that site. If you could get past the lingo and the .17s. I am a lot happier sewing bullet holes than watching coyotes run off after being shot. Those guys were really into Airedales too if I remember right.
