Well, been getting ready for the LBL hunt, so thought I'd better head up to the range to check out 2 of my calling rifles just to make sure no problems exist. Got to the shooting house and started gettin everything out and setting up on the bench when I see some movement about 300 yds out in front of the shooting house. I had my calling pack in the back seat so I grab my binos and danged if it ain't 2 coyotes come down from the mountain heading up the dirt road at a stiff trot! I think, Man what luck. I start grabbing for shells and guns, throwing stuff everywhere. Grab my AR then think no, my BAR 243! Drop my shell box and spill them all over the ground. Look up and panic cause there getting way out there, almost out of sight. Finally get the clip loaded, throw my pack across a rock and take "dead aim" on the rear dog. "CLICK". frogot to close the action. Too late now. there out of sight around the bend. Wait! I got my calls! I frantically dig through my call selection. Can't find the one I need so I just grab anything and take off running. I wanted to get about 100 yds away from the truck and get hidden before I start blowing. I find a suitable shrub to hide under and take a deep breath as I bring the call to my mouth. I feel something like a bug go down my throat and imeadiatly start caughing and hacking, wheezing, spitting! I mean this thing is way down my throat! I'm choking and making the wierdiest whezzing noises. I start trying to barf it and up it comes. I'd swallowed the reed devise out of the call!
Gosh, this coyote huntin's fun ain't it? What else can you have this much fun at? Things can only get better from here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif kyray
