Well here is the latest. I cannot believe it, but the Vet let me bring Bullet home today. He said the little fellow was making himself sick. Seems he was so homesick that after we'd visit, then leave, Bullet would pace and cry for hours. He wasn't resting at all.
So, we brought him home and I can't begin to believe how happy and well, actually well, he is acting. He looks like hell, as if he was slung out of an open truck bed going 90 mph down a rough gravel road. More than a little rough, the wife couldn't eat dinner and look at him. He's dripping blood occasionally. And he just rubbed against the new couch and left a smear of blood.
BUT, he's HUNGRY, really hungry. He's drinking water, of course I put crushed ice in his water so its nice and cool for him. Plus he wanted to go potty and managed that without too much trouble. He's wobbling around, he managed the steps up and down on the back deck. He sniffed out the back yard and what little hair is left on the ruff of his neck went up and his tail went wild as if he were on track. Some of the smaller bites are beginning to scab a little and close. One of the first things he did upon arriving home was walk around and check everything out inside. I guess to make sure home is still like it was before the attack. Maybe to make sure there were no coyotes hiding in the house! He's on meds for pain, inflamation, and has an antibiotic also. We have appointments to take him back to the Vet's Office the next two Fridays. He's acting like my old dog and other than the obvious discomfort and wounds his actions aren't different than before. I wish we could bathe him, man does he smell! That's ok, we'll deal with that. It's so good to have him home and know he'll heal whole again. I'm going to try to get some pic's of his wounds and I'll post them for you.
Thank you ladies and gentlemen for all the considerable understanding, the kind and gentle thoughts, and most importantly - the prayers. God bless you all...
