That is a Choate Ultimate Sniper stock. I have a lot of guys go with this stock, just so they start shooting, while saving up their money for a better stock. I know of several guys who are still using this same stock 10 years later. It's big, bulky and ugly, but it sure works good! It even has a heavy duty aluminum chassis, so it requires no bedding. I actually keep a couple of these stocks around for accuracy testing, and since it is already set up for heavy barrels, it works perfectly for everything from light sporters to heavy varmint weight barrels. And since they sell for $200 from Midway, you're not really out a lot of money for a good testing platform.
Agree they are not much to look at, but I've been looking for something resembling the feel of an AR stock but which does not have a "pistol grip" ever since the landowner banned AR's (or anything with similar appearance) on the ranches I hunt. I like the straight grip of the AR and think this configuration might pass inspection. Will check to see if available for Savage 10. Thanks!
