Thanks for the reply Hitman. I doubt I will ever use them for decoy work but I would employ them on wounded coyotes and coons. I hunt a lot of shelf rock with my Jack Russells. They work well but I still lose a lot of coon because my dogs don’t have enough grit to drag them out. I am sure a good hard jagd will cover me in that department.
I am still greatly interested in decoy dogs though. I wonder how an Airedale Border Collie cross would work out or a cur/collie cross. Pure dales and Mt. Curs are popular but I think some collie or kelpie blood would ad a dash of obedience as well as intelligence making training easer. Have you hear of any crosses like those I just mentioned?
