Difference between nickel and brass cases?

I just bought a 22–250 and I was anxious to get reloading right away. When I went to Scheels and all they had was nickel cases. What can I expect in differences between brass cases and nickel cases? Can I reload the same load as far as powder charge and bullet and expect similar results?

Everything is the same - some guys will tell you a bunch of junk - don't believe a word of it - they will last as long, and shoot as well, and they are easy to find in the grass.

Thanks cat shooter as always your advice is much appreciated. I wonder why they were such a good price at $25 per 50 of them I guess I'll have to go back and buy them out.

These days, that is a fair price - if I didn't shoot Lapua (at $1 each) I would shoot Winchester Nickel in my 22-250 resurrected "Phoenix".

I tend to stay away from nickel brass. That plating will scratch up the interior of a nice sizing die and leave a mirrored image on any brass you run thru it./'

Well all the Winchester brass was sold out. All they had was Remington, which I really don't mind as long as it isn't PMC or something. I deal with a more modest set of tolerances I suppose. Also, it's hard to find .22-250 brass anymore. I just got my new rifle, but I'm already considering trading it in for a .223!

Get a couple 100 Norma or Lapua and be done. No more brass to buy for the rest of the rifles life, if you treat it right.

I use very nice sizing dies, and have run thousands of nickeled cases through them - with no scratches or other problems at all.

I use Remington Nickel cases in:
22-250
30-06
30-30
444Marlin
300WSM
38 Special
357 Mag
Gee I have never had any problems with dies or cases. It must be a fluke....
I use brass cases in 223 and 40S&W because it was avalable in 2000 lot boxes....

Probably ruins easier. Or is it tougher to ruin...I'm confused.

I don't think it would make a difference. The nickel is a thin layer. You're treating the brass more than the nickel coating, I would think.
