Difference between nickel and brass cases?

I don't know. I have never annealed nickel plated brass.

Here is the thread where it is talked about. Page #3.

I was annealing some 6mm Rem brass today and happened to have ONE 22-250 that was nickel plated so I threw it in the mix, since I was.

It looks black in the pic, but it is really more blue/black. Any way it does not polish off with 0000 steel wool. Also it took just a few more seconds to turn red than brass and it stayed hot for longer as well. Thought I would share.

They only things I have noticed when working nickel plated brass in past is that I would hear a "crunching noise" when full length sizing it. I would assume its a little harder than brass with the coating on it? I never had any damage to casings or dies. I have had some 30-06 casings that I have loaded over a dozen times without annealing and are still going strong. The one thing I can see is that after all the resizing the nickel plating is either thinning or wearing off because I can see faint spots of brass coloring through the nickel. They are some really durable casings as far as I've seen. and as stated I do like that you can see them easier in the grass or wherever.
