One proud Pa-in-law!! My daughter in law borrowed a crossbow and shot a real nice buck a couple of years ago and wanted to get into archery hunting. My son REFUSED to buy her a crossbow and she sorts said the heck with it cause she didn’t think she could shoot a “regular” bow.
Well a few weeks ago she decided she wanted a bow so he bought her one. Nothing fancy, just a decent “woman’s” bow to get her started. She’s been practicing and would do good then start shooting bad again. We finally figured out the cheap sights on the bow were coming loose, so we upgraded to a “nicer” sight and she started back shooting really good for never shooting before.
Tonight was the test. She’s limited to a self imposed 20yds so my son put her a lock-on in a little oak grove with some golden acorns as well.
She made a really good shot on a nice doe and the deer only made it 60yds. It was a slight quartering to shot with a lung and liver being taken out with a 100gr Exodus broadhead.
I’ll give that girl one thing, when she sets her mind to something, she works at it until it happens!! She was the same way when learning to turkey hunt by herself. To say I’m PROUD is an understatement!
Pics coming soon…I hope, lol!!
