Do I really need a Carry permit?

Yep, its a BH serpa paddle for civlian carry, Sully. Great holster so far and very reasonably priced.

Strong words for a new guy, Oledodge.

Not a good way to make friends around here that's for sure.

I wouldn't doubt that others are not impressed by your posts (or lack thereof) as well.

Its evident you didnt read too many of my posts..or enough of my posts at least...but there I go again...making an assumption that you are capable of reading!.

There are more than a few CHAINS OF ESTABLISHMENTS that even though the "head office" doesnt care about CCW...the INDIVIDUAL LOCATIONS can..and in some cases DO post .."NO FIREARMS".

And if you are frequention some hole in the wall joint where they have "shootouts" as you describe...let me know where so I dont have to accidentally go there!

And as far as reading or not reading ANY of my posts....Take a good look...WAYYYYYY back in my eyes....and see if you can find someone that gives a **** whether you do or not!

Well sully,,you being from ohio also,,you probably noticed around the time that the CCW law passed,,that buisness owners broke their necks to get the lil stickers in the windows,,stating "its unlawful to carry here"...I just wonder what the penalty is for ignoring this?

Apparently it wasnt concealed if you were approached on more than one occasion. Were you wearing shorts? IMHO dont want to have to go for my ankle to defend the honey or my self. The tendency to take your eyes off the aggressor will probably increase. Also if you wear it on your ankle and you happen to see one or more suspicious individuals hanging around or walking your way and you have to pause to get to your weapon , now who is the aggressor? JMHO

i do agree with you john. ankle holster under pants but my handgun of choice is springfield xdm 9mm 16 rd mag. its not really a concealable gun. im just bigger than most so its easier for me to hide a somewhat bigger gun. but i do agree with you 100 percent on the ankle. not an ideal location but sometimes may be all a person has available. but as far as asking who is the aggressor... the other person is all the time. but i feel comfortable with it on my ankle. im big enough and have enough training that the disadvantages of an ankle holster doesnt bother me. i have pro training in hand to hand that i feel comfortable. def not saying im a badass just saying i feel comfortable with most situations.

In Ohio, If the owner discovers your carrying in a posted establishment, they can ask you to leave. If you refuse it can become a misdemeanor tresspass charge. This dosen't apply (currently) to places that serve alcohol, schools, .gov buildings that are no carry zones by law, not by choice of the owner. Those are felony offenses. The govenor just signed a new bill that will allow us to carry in restaurants that serve alcohol as long as we don't drink, takes effect in 90 days. Those places can still post a no guns sign if they chose.

Sully, what part of Ohio you in? I carry in walmarts all over SW and West Ohio and have never seen a walmart post a CPZ sign. (cirminal protection zone)

thats what i like about arizona. i have my ccw, its a great class. i think everyone that owns a firearm should go to it just to catch up on the legal does and donts. i carry open 90 percent of the time. i carry a G20 or my baby eagle. i have a shoulder rig that i carry hunting because my knife resides right hip. you just have to be carefull of the whole enticing a riot rule. dont flash it dont rest your hand on it. i carry mine everywhere.

Me and the Mrs's went to a fireworks display last night and ran into a co-worker. He was about three sheets in the wind and started asking me why I needed a CCW. He said he just uses his fists and fights his way out of trouble. I just told him its hard to fight bullets with your fists. I think I confused him, he left.

I decided to go with the Ruger LCP .380 because it fits in the watch pocket of my Levis Jeans. (well almost

Glad to hear you and some friends are going to get your CCW permit pyscodog..it`s the best way; meaning LEGAL.
I have had a couple people ask me why do I have a CCW permit? The simple answer- because I can.

Well, I wouldn`t overlook the new .380 offered by S&W it comes with a laser sight. figures I find out about the S&W a week after I made the purchase and added a crimson trace laser.
According to friends who own both the LCP and Keltec, say there is not much difference and actually suggested me to go Keltec to save $$$

I think our local wally world is posted in the window. In this state I think there are some rules about how signs must be posted or they are not legal.I just do like I always have, keep my shirt over it,don't show it to anybody, stay out of trouble, keep my eyes open and be gone before the trouble starts.I know this only holds true in my little part of the world and thats changing.I have carried when working out of state in some rough places and did not get in trouble but could have.I am glad the laws allow ccw now,it is nice not to have to worry about having your gun so much.

If they catch ya they just ask you to leave...and if you put up a big squabble..they call the local cops and then you MUST leave or get into trouble for giving him a hard time...but basically...nothing..

A small auto I dearly loved was the S&W MP9c model. Weighed 24 ounces....and 9MM is more than enough at close range. But alas..*sniff*...I had to get rid of all my automatics ( I did keep one 1911...

) and had to go back to wheel guns

Recently, Utah changed the laws a bit. Less emphasis on brandishing because your shirt came up. Plus it is an open carry state, that's nice too.

SW Ohio...about 30 miles east of Cincinnati.

What you state there about the Gov signing that bill...etc..etc..alludes to exactly what I said about big businesses. The HEAD of the company ( in this case the state Gov) may not care about it...but the LOCAL business ( hence the individual bar owners) can put up signs to keep CCW out of their businesses.
