Geez man,I now understand how the locals felt while the Apaches were raiding here in the late 1800s. A large portion of my honeyholes are no longer safe.If you have an interest, there are some interesting photographs at the link below. Where is General Crook when we need him?

Arizona Sheriff: Mexican Drug Cartels Now Control Parts Of Arizona

Bitter Queen alerts us to a KGUN News 9 report from Arizona that illustrates the deadly ramifications of open borders.

Two men are found in a remote part of pinal county shot to death. The Pinal County Sheriff believes the men were shot by fellow smugglers. Paul Babeu tells KGUN9 News this is just another example of drug violence spilling deep into Arizona.

It was just five weeks ago that deputy Louie Puroll was shot in a drug corridor in west Pinal County. On Sunday, more violence in the same area. Around 7:30 p.m. that night man calls 911 speaking Spanish. He says, "somebody shot me. While we were running."

Sheriff Paul Babeu believes the caller was smuggling drugs with the second victim.

"A competing cartel or other people stole their product from them and also killed them," Babeu said.

The sheriff admits the cartels are operating in his county and without the federal government's help they can't get control. KGUN 9 News asked Babeu flat out if cartels control parts of Arizona.

"Absolutely, they have in terms of the remote areas in the drug corridors in the desert here in west Pinal County. Our government has even erected signs warning citizens to beware this is a known drug corridor," Babeu said...

...Deputies found an automatic rifle near one of the men who was killed. The pair has yet to be identified but Babeu believes one of the men has been caught illegally in the United States at least seven times.

These are our genius federal bureaucrats at work: instead of erecting a fence, they put up signs warning American citizens to stay away -- implicitly tolerating the corridors that expedite the flow of drugs into the U.S.

And these are the very same sort of illegal aliens that President Obama has ordered authorities to handle with kid gloves in country-club like facilities: minimum security detention centers, dance classes, hanging plants, open Internet access and free phones among the benefits.

It's sheer, unmitigated insanity. It's November or never, folks.

Update: Don't forget to thank Democrats, John McCain and Lindsey "Goober" Graham for their failure to build a serious border fence.

But don't worry, folks -- anyone who opposes Arizona's law is a Nazi-winger for wanting to prevent drug- and human-smuggling operations from taking over large swaths of U.S. territory.

Az,
Thanks for the post.
Unfortunately, we have no one in our Federal Government who is remotely sympathetic to Arizona's needs.
None of them have the moral courage to do what's right; BUILD THE FRIGGING fence, and man it with people carrying loaded machine guns. In fact, they are actively supporting the drug cartels by taking legal action to have the Arizona law reversed, along with demeaning and degrading Gov. Brewer and her efforts in the process.
Obama and Napalitano are gutless..

That just goes to show how easy it is to sit in a Los Angeles air conditioned office that is controlled by armed security personnel and pontificate about someone else's life

If that author had indicated that he had even visited the area and spent some time in the hills, or along the routes with the Border Patrol, or visiting the various property owners in the immediate area,,, I might have been slightly impressed with his views...

Yanno,I'm getting more pissed by the day.I have emailed Gov Brewer,State Sen Russel Pearce and my Congressman John Shaddeg today regarding the invasion of America, guess I'll see what gels.Too many fine Americans have died protecting this country for these Bas#*@ %s to give it up to the messican drug cartels now.

Pinal County Sheriff: Mexican drug cartels now control parts of Arizona
Monday, June 14, 2010 | Borderland Reporter Gerardo

CASA GRANDE, AZ - Two men shot earlier this week could be the result of the ongoing battle between Mexican drug cartels now spilling over deep into Arizona, officials say.

Pinal County investigators say an area known as the smuggling corridor now stretches from Mexico's border to metro Phoenix.

The area, once an area for family hiking and off road vehicles has government signs warning residents of the drug and human smugglers.

Night vision cameras have photographed cartel members with military arms delivering drugs to vehicles along Highway 8.

"We are three counties deep. How is it that you see pictures like these, not American with semi and fully automatic rifles. How is that okay?" asked Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu.

Babeu said he no longer has control over parts of his county.

"We are outgunned, we are out manned and we don't have the resources here locally to fight this," he said at a Friday news conference.

Five weeks ago Deputy Louie Puroll was ambushed and shot as he tracked six drug smugglers.

Sheriff Babeu said the ambush mirrored military tactics.

Even more disturbing, Babeu said the man who called in to 911 operators for help seemed to know a lot about the sheriff deputy's case.

"He told operators they could find him where the deputy was shot and talked about our search helicopter. Things that were not talked about on the news," Babeu said.

When operators asked the fatally wounded man how he knew the area, he claimed he sold cantelope near mile post 150.

Both men were found dead several hours later.

Detectives say next to them was a Bushmaster automatic rifle used by police officers for patrolling. It does not appear to be stolen.

Investigators also revealed that an autopsy showed strap marks on one of the men that likely came from hauling heavy loads, they suspect were drugs.

One of the men, deputies say, was voluntarily deported seven times.

Babeu said he doesn't believe the drug cartel problems will not be solved when SB 1070 becomes a law, or with President Obama's promise of 1,200 troops spread out among four border states.

"It will fall short. What is truly needed in 3,000 soldiers for Arizona alone," Babeu said.

The Sheriff in the video said he was out gunned, Bull S--t, ever hear of deputizing locals? Any person seen carrying a weapon in these zones should be shot on sight! This is war!

IN all honesty would you as a citizen want to walk into this mess? I am as upset as the next guy, but do not think that without extensive training I would be willing to walk into the area. He is asking for 3,000 trained military personnel and equipment.

You might want to see this small weapons cache that was discovered by the Mexican Police... These are not amature's...

Exactly where did you hear about it in OUR media? Thank God for the border patrol that this did not come over the border. There is one "graphic picture" but it tells the story.

Let's quit trying to decide who is violating our federal laws "to make a better life", and ENFORCE the laws across the board on EVERYONE violating them.

That way we won't have to lament or wonder just how many of the illegal aliens legalized (synonymous with rewarded) under the latest attempt to legislate away the millions who have spit on our laws, are MS-13, Zetas, cartel members, and other scum that would be "legal". There are many Hispanic men and women that I both love and respect that understand and support Arizona and any citizen's desire to keep our country a safe place to live and raise our children and grandchildren. It's not racist, and it's not xenophobic. I hope we can ignore and recognize the majority of the naysayers for the photo-op, attention-loving clowns they are, and start coming together as AMERICANS that want what's best for AMERICA !

And our President is assigning our Guard personnel on the border, basically unarmed with instructions to observe and report only???

I don't read Spanish/Mexican, but those pictures sure didn't look like captured weapons,, except for the visible dirt...That looked like a bunch of guys getting their inventory ready to either bury, or use..

Considering the number of ARs/M-16s and the 1911 clones I saw, I can see the claim that many of them are coming from NA, but they can just as easily be stolen as bought...

Those photos are amazing, but it only shines the light on the magnitude of the problem and must be stopped now. Whatever it takes, like I said this is war! And yes, with the proper training I would stand shoulder to shoulder with others willing to defend our borders. And seeing that these "undocumented workers" behave like terrorist, beheadings and such, they should be treated as such! No mercy!

Wonder how much longer before there are signs that say something like travel beyond city limits may be hazardous or being outside after sundown is not recommended.

Or maybe, BLM Encourages Visitors To Stay Off Of All Public Land.

Crying shame!
