Start a fund? Really?

You will have to excuse me for being a simpleton but..... Why don't you just show your support by purchasing their products instead.

Already purchase their products, dont you? They went the extra mile to back out on money they had invested because something that they, and I believe in. I just thought it would be a way of saying an extra thank you for standing up for us instead of just to keep doing what we were doing anyway. To just keep buying their products really doesn't mean anything unless we stop buying products from those who just go on because they paid their money already.

NRA News had a story on this, this afternoon saying that eastern sports people are out of the UK, and they won't answer phone calls or E-Mails about there decision to ban MSR's from this show.
Boycott the show, and go on-line and place an order with companies that have pulled out, to show your support of there decision.

Hunting PA has alot of game commisioners on their site and I believe most all of them are against AR style rifle for hunting and even some think civilians should not own them as some of their members believe the same. They was not going to pull the banner until they got pressured by PMs and possibillity of loss of members. And I believe the NRA had some influence on them also. I been on that site and they do not support the right or would fight for the use of AR style rifles for hunting. I bootcotted them long time ago.

Well, whatever the case, it is about taking over every forum on HPA right now. Looks to be about 80 vendors/celebs have officially pulled out already, and this is really the first only business work day since this took off. Out of about 1200 vendors/celebs per year there, it is nearing 10% are out already. As people talk to their lawyers, business partners, etc., there are bound to be a bunch more. Many HPA'er's are out, and probably for next year too if Reed (the organizers) still runs things, just to make sure it hurts.

The NRA is still going from what I've seen so far, but they are probably the ones that should stay in. Can you imagine walking in to nothing much but the NRA stand!!! I wonder if the Army and Marines booths will still be allowed - nothing there tactical/military, right? Police organizations??? What about the longrifle guys? They were tactical not to long ago....you remember, the last time we went thru this crap??

Reed is supposed to be releasing a statement tomorrow - we'll see, but they are probably in the red this year already. Lawsuits will add to that - they are inevitable in such things involving millions of $$.

I've gone in the past, but won't again wether they reverse or not. It has nothing to do with ARs, but they have now revealed their liberal, Obama boot licking, PC mentality. If I were closer, I'd show up just to carry a sign in protest. Reed has made a statement that they fully support the 2nd amendment. Obviously, they don't. Negative publicity? I think they'll get more than the bargained for.

As per HuntingPA.com, Bass Pro was never going to have a set-up at the show - probably becuz of Cabela's being a major sponsor?? So they were never in. They're still good so far as I know.

There is talk on HuntingPA.com of organizing protests. Talk of Twp./Harrisburg City permits, where does everyone park, etc. In the beginning stages right now.

PA local tv networks are starting to pick up on it. Over 150 vendors/celebs out right now - that number has about doubled since last nite midnite. If this continues, they'll lose half their vendors/celebs by the end of this week.

A couple of things from Reed's website:

"The Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show is a unique celebration of the authentic hunting and fishing traditions that are cherished by millions of Americans and their families. We are proud to celebrate these pastimes by featuring 1,200 exhibitors offering a diverse range of products from outfitters to fishing boats and RVs, from archery to art and from clothes to cabins.
As a hunting-focused event, we welcome exhibitors who wish to showcase products and firearms that serve the traditional needs of the sport. Clearly, we strongly support the 2nd Amendment. However, this year we have made the decision not to include certain products that in the current climate may attract negative attention that would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing at this family-oriented event and possibly disrupt the broader positive experience of our guests.
ESS is proud to participate in the preservation and promotion of the rich hunting and fishing tradition passed from generation to generation by American families."

"Setting industry agendas throughout the world
Reed Exhibitions organises 500 events in 39 countries. In 2011 Reed Exhibitions’ events brought together 6 million participants from the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Our wide range of events includes trade and consumer exhibitions, conferences and meetings."

Working in 39 countries and on 4 continents has possibly not allowed the American experience to penetrate their brains???

One thing that is being pushed by the 2nd A. crowd, and I will reiterate here is that it is at least as important to try to support the vendors and celebs that have pulled out with your business and purchases, and even emails, tweets and likes on FB, as it is to protest yourself. All of these companies/persons are taking a BIG financial hit on $$ already spent in prep for this show, including business and promotions lost at the show. So buy your stuff, or some of your stuff, from them, and make sure that they know that you did and why.

We need a list of businesses that DO attend the show, so we'll know who all to boycott. The way it's going, that list might be pretty short.

That'll come after the show, I'm sure.

Bass Pro never was in.

About time. I am a big NRA supporter and thought they should have jumped on this earlier. This is gaining huge momentum.

I would love it if all these great vendors were able to get together and have their own show that same weekend. I know it would be hard to compete but it would make a great point.
