CZs are nice rifles. I just sold a 527 varmint recently in .223...CZ gets my vote. The varmints aren't too heavy either. Feels like packing a sporter weight 700.

Remington M7CDL in 17FB for a sporter, or 700CDL (Limited) for a really classy full size rifle.

If ya just gotta have a 204, the CZV"s a good choice, but get the Kevlar stocked model.
I had the wood stocked 26" barreled version. To bulky and cumbersome with that long barrel for my tastes.
Even better IMO is the 527American, but it sounds like you're after a heavy barreled rig. Not sure why though if you're just shooting Wabbits and Fox.

CZ 204 VARMINT come with a 24ins bls wood stock only in uk at this moment , i have land that i can shoot over 1000yrds plus not that i going to shoot that far . but you never know and the cz varmint is alot lighter than my 220 swift no 1 i just like the varmint barrel in the cz

The CZ VARMINTS come with 24" barrels here too. Weight is 8# even, bout like a standard m700, m70, m77. Not at all too heavy to hunt like most HB rifles.

I really can't stand heavy barrels ....but I'd buy the 527 varmint again in a heart beat.

The first 204V's "over here" came with wood stocks and 26" barrels.
Look it up.

ETA,,,, Lolo sporting goods in Lewiston ID still has two brand new ones on their shelf. At least they did last time I was in there.

Iono, all the ones listed at buds and whittakers sport 24" heavy barrels. My 527 v .223 was 24, and the 17 rem varmint at my local shop is 24". Maybe in the beginning they were 26" or some make it out as 26"..CZ does weird things sometimes

I didn't say anything about 17Rem or 223's, nor did I "make it out to be 26" ". I said the first "204V's had wood stocks and 26" barrels" because they did (and still do).
The barrel contour on that model was slightly different too, and will not match up to a regular 24" varmint contoured CZ527 barrel reguardless of caliber.
Look it up.

Just cause they aren't on Buds or your rifle wasn't the same doesn't mean they don't exist.
And truthfully, there's allot of em out there.
Call Whittakers and ask em. They know CZ's.

To the OP I paid 550 out the door for my 527 varmint .223

I was in my local shop today and they have a 527 varmint 17 rem and a 527 varmint 204...both going for 569 with rings.

Not sure what "lono"or "w/e" means because I don't speak text or twitter but knowing you it's something derogatory since you tend to resort to name calling when one of your blanket statements based on the ONE rifle you've owned for 15 minutes is wrong and you get called on it.

Rather than demonstrating your cyber skills by posting links a second grader could find, why don't you call Whittakers, CZ, or the gun shop I told you about and educate your self?

All this for a .204R

I know we don't always agree Repete but I like your style in how you handle some of the "I always have a ready response to just about anything asked simply to boost my post count and hence to also boost my self-worth and stature here" forum experts.

No Kidding! I dumped mine (a 26" barreled CZ

) after 80 rounds.

Especially when we started with the PERFECT Fox and Bunny round, the 17HH.
I still say wait for CZ's version of the 17HH (reguardless of barrel length). Anything's better than the Savage 25.

I may just join the CZ clan when the 17 comes on line. That round seems list awesome, for the bitty critters.

Repeat is correct on the CZ 204V's the 26"v's have a different contour/stock than the 24"v's. The two I bought new came in factory ser#d boxes clearly marked 24" and they are 26" They are date stamped "11" I have an identicle 26" stamped "04" and a "04" stamped 24" that is considerably heavier. All are 204's. Don't know the rhyme or reason But my experience has been that more Cz 204V's are 26" rather than 24" as on the box. Some folks refer to the 26" as a 25.5" they are one in the same. If you want one or the other (26"...24") best to deal with someone who knows what there looking/talking about as the feel of the two is very different to me. As Repete said Whittakers knows the diff.

Maybe you should " look it up" before you assume. Remember how that word breaks down.

Iono is I don't know.

W/e is Whatever. Yep it was a deragatory insult. Jesus you can't have a single thread where YOU don't get plum bent out of shape about something petty. Then turn around and complain about people arguing over the Internet.

To the OP. good luck in your quest....
