FFL transfer fees are awful!!

My local shop is asking $75 for an FFl transfer fee. Just to receive a gun.....completely asinine if you ask me. Its highway robbery. But I do have to say I'm not gun shop expert. I may be missing something. I just dont like paying an extra $75 on top of the initial costs. Just a little venting. What do your shops charge?
 
25.00 here,...alot of the smaller guys are probably gonna boost their prices until they're able to get ANY kind of sellable product back on the shelves. I went into my local shop today for a visit and he's down to basically nothing. If I wanted a gun badly enought and he needed the 75.00 for the transfer,..I'd gladly give it to him,..he's taken great care of me over the years. I guess it would come down to the history you've had with your guy.
 
I use a guy that charges $10 if you have a CCW and $20 if you don't. For CCW holders in Arizona, he doesn't have to call in a background check. The highest shop around here charges $50. I would find a new shop.
 

$30 at the one I use close by. At the shop I buy most of my stuff at I saw a sign today of $50 transfers ! That's a ripoff !
 
Obviously there are a couple of boxes of ammo included!

Just paid 10 last week, that was a discount from his normal 20. There has to be another reasonably priced one around. Like everything else these days, they get what people pay.
 
There are online resources to find different FFLs in your area. Should not be more than 20-25 for a transfer IMO. That is what I am used to paying.
 
Used to be $20 here and they would accept from an individual. Now they will only accept from other FFL's and it is $35 plus tax. Hard to find a good deal with those obstacles.

Some of you may not like this but here I go. You have to understand that most small gun shops have a hard time keeping the doors open selling guns the profit is just not that good all of the time,it is hard to compete with the larger chain stores and the internet sales. The $75.00 is about what the profit margin is on a average gun sale. They are in business to make a profit after paying all the overhead. Every time someone comes in and wants a gun transfer for a gun they bought from the internet that is a gun that they did not sell and make any profit on.If you dont want to pay a transfer fee, then buy it from your local gun store and help them stay in business.There is getting to be less and less of them all the time. I do have a FFL but I still trade with my local gun store.It is nice to have a store were you can do tradeins.The big chain stores wont take in any tradeins.

He made over a million in sales his first year open.
