Firearm sales and regrets?

The day after I graduated high school, I started working at a pawnshop. 3 weeks later I bought a Charter Arms 38 special. Carried it everyday for about a year, then traded it off for a Beretta 380. About a year later I traded off the Beretta.

Both were really good weapons, I wish I still had them both. Last month my old boss was shot and killed at the shop. Kinda struck home. Lots of good times back then.

Hey NE223...not tryin to rub it in, but thanks for the info. I just bought a Ruger 22-250 with the bull barrel and pick it up next week. Too bad you live so darn far cause I've got a 1911 Colt that was manufactured sometime around 1935 - 1938 and I HATE the thing. I'm actually not into handguns that much anymore although I've got a number of them in my safe. Hence I bought the new Ruger 22-250 to go along with my other long guns that I love shooting. A friend let me shoot his last weekend and it was like instant, "I'VE GOT TO GET ME ONE OF THEM THINGS!"

Sold/traded two that I regret. Was fortunate to get one back. The other is long gone.

1st: Around 1985 I traded a .222 Sako Vixen even up at a gun shop for a new S&W 659.

2nd: Traded a sweet Win Mod 1200 to a local gun shop during another deal. A week later went and bought it back.

As long as we have food and shelter and my family is not in need, I will never sell or trade.

So I have no regret stories and I hope that I can stick by my comment the rest of my life.

The thought of trading has come but I normally fight to let it pass.

I do have a few rifles that I do not feel fit me well, but still, I will hang on to them.

Just have to skip one firearm purchase to add another safe!

Nope, I just saw a couple of rifles in the classifieds and thought "man he's going to regret selling this one". After that I thought of some that I sure wish I had back and wondered if you all felt the same. It would appear so.

A Remington 700 BDL Varmint in .223 man it was a shooter but in a weak moment well y'all know.
Another was a old Interarms Mini Mauser in .223 it didn't shoot those itty bitty groups but it would shoot 3/4" with about anything you stuck in it and it layed on the dash of my truck really nicely.I got way more for it than it was worth and sold it and have missed it badly ever simce. I bought a Remington 799 hoping it would be the same but no it won't shoot 3/4" with anything you stick in it and with the laminated stock it must weigh 2 1/2 lbs more than my old Mini.

Only one that just jumps out at me. I bought a Ruger Super Blackhawk, 7.5 inch barrel with a 2X Leupold scope. I hunted with it a couple of years but when my Dept authorized .380 pistols I just had to have one. Traded the Ruger for a Walther PPKS and not 6 months later they recinded the order and I had to sell it.

I am fixing to trade a LNIB RRA 20" coyote rifle, for a NIB Browning Citori 12ga with screw in chokes. Don't know yet if I will regret it or not we will see.
