There is bad reviews on every product!

Yeah, and it's lookin like I may have to be one of those bad ones.
My wife drove 65 miles one way to pick one up for me at Dicks last weekend. I had to take it back because I think it was a return to start with. ( They only had the one.) I take it out of the box and the batteries had already been installed and the whole bit. Even plugged in I couldn't get it to come on. I took it back the next day and ordered one online from Dicks. It's been charging all night last night and most of today, and it won't come on either. This one will at least come on when I plug the charger up to it.
I'm pretty disgusted with the whole thing right now. I started to go with the Spitfire, but chose this one because of the extra sounds. Not so sure I made the right choice.

just remember the same thing could have happened with a spitfire, it happends sometimes and just like every product out there it will have bad reviews and good! some company's throw a popular hunter in front of the product to make you look past the bad reviews, but all in all when the smoke clears i wouldnt throw the flextone out just yet! give the boys at the factory time to fix ya up and then if all else fails by all means get the foxpro! the choice is yours.

Joe are you saying your second one won't turn on? If so when you hit the center button it flashes blue for a second and looks like it isn't doing anything keep holding it down and it should turn on. I just timed mine and you have to hold the center arrow button down for 3 or 4 seconds for it to come on. Also you have to put the charger in pretty hard, harder then you would think but it makes a good seal.

You are correct, the second one won't come on. I've charged it for hours with no results.
I can plug in the charger and it will come on and work perfectly, unplug the charger and nothing. I've checked the connection on the battery pack and it's connected, and all of the batteries are installed correctly.
The remote works perfectly and I even removed the remote from the base just in case the battery from the remote was somehow kicking off the charger.

I understand you can get a "bad one" in anything, but this makes two and it's beginning to leave a sour taste in my mouth. I'm in the process of sending an email to the company to get their take on the whole thing.

Not yet, but that's my next thing to try.
I know the charger has to be working, or the base wouldn't work when I plug it up.

just give them a call or email and let them know your upset and getting sic of it! they will help!

i feel ya man, when you pay for something your supposed to get something that works! good luck

Just installed a set of Energizer Ultimates and the durn thing works perfectly. Now, is it the charging system or have I got a set of junk batteries?

id say junk batteries since when you plugged it in and it turned on it was feeding off the power from the charger, since you put different batteries in and it worked....i bet you had screwed up batteries!

the batteries that came with my unit are nicad rechargeables.... and the first time i went to charge it.. it didn't... then I realized that i didn't push in the charging leed far enough up into the unit...now it charges great.... I even used a small volt meter to check the batteries before and after charge... and there was a big differance.... and i even tested the two clip prongs that snap onto the battery pack... and could see that the charger was putting voltage into the pack... charging the batteries.... but I'm not so sure that regular batteries should be charged in the unit... maybe only nicad... but not sure...

Batteries are probably the problem. Honestly it's a pretty good call for the money, they have to cut corners somewhere. I would rather it be a set of batteries then a set of speakers that sound like junk. Mine actually holds a charge really well so far. You can get a set of rechargeable batteries from someplace like wal-mart and replace them and you should be all set if you are sure it was the batteries and not a connection.

larryb I want to order one from dicks sporting goods but the store didnt have it in stock so I have to order from the internet did you call or email them to get the price match?

This may sound dumb and I am not trying to insult anyone but make sure you are plugging in the charger into the call all the way. I thought mine was in all the way but it was not charging. Had to give it a real good push and then it was in. So what I am getting at is it may seem like its there but it may not.

I also think mine was a return because the outside box was damaged (not the shipping box), the clear plastic that holds the call was broke, and it looked like it was retaped.

I thought the remote range was great and easy to use but just was not satisfied with the volume so it is on its way back.

the volume on mine is loud but nothing like the fox pro prairie blaster! i too didnt push the adapter in all the way and thought it was junk! i just jammed it in there like you have to do and it works fine!

No insult taken. The first time I plugged it up, I didn't get it in there far enough.
But the next time I did figure out I wasn't going far enough to make a connection.
The unit came on afterwards with the charger plugged in, but wouldn't charge the batteries.
I haven't heard anything from the company yet, but then I didn't expect to with it being the weekend and all.
Soon as I do, I'll post up.
If all else fails, I can buy a charger and some new batteries I guess.

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think you might be able to charge some new batteries right in the unit, no charger needed. Some one else might know better then me but I think that's right, if I'm wrong please chime in.

i charge mine in a seperate charger and plug it in for about 2 hours to charge the remote...maybe thats why i have no problems the battery is always charged
