FOXPRO's New FX5!

The V=13 indicates the current volume level. When you adjust the volume, the number will adjust accordingly.

Excellent! I assume this means that a signal is sent back from the unit to the transmitter? Will this affect remote range?

Quote:
The 12:30 is the timer. The transmitter will have an on/off switch. When you turn the transmitter on, the timer will begin counting.

Again, excellent! Will the remote go into "sleep" mode like the current FX3? If so, does sleep mode reset the timer? Does sleep mode reset the volume indicator?

Hope my questions make sense.

Thanks.
Joel

Bill,

That is what's nice about our lineup of callers. We offer a caller for everyone's needs. From the Model 38, to the 416 remote, the FX3, Snow Crow Pro, and FX5, someone could surely find a caller that not only suits there needs, but also their budget.

Joel Hughes,

In the scheme for the volume, range will not be affected at all. With the FX5, the display will stay active all the time. The display will not draw any current at all from the battery, so battery life will not be affected. After approx. 10 seconds, the backlight will go out. The only way the timer will get preset is if you turn the transmitter off. And the volume number will remain at the current setting, unless you change it. Hope this answers your questions.

Why do I want to change channels? What is it used for?

Sorry about the first post must of punched a button as was writing the post and didn't know it.

Boy are you fast on returning a post.
Again just Me coyotechet

you would want to change channels if your buddy has one and you wanted to use them both and one was interupting the other one.

Coyotechet,

Let's say you are hunting with a buddy that also has a 416 remote, an FX3, Snow Crow Pro, or FX5. You can now use up to three callers on one stand, and operate them all independently from a single transmitter. It will also let you change the channel if you are getting interference from someone else in the area that maybe using a FOXPRO (it has happened more than you would think).

OK Mike I got one for you, I know that you can operate mulptiple units with the new remote as well as the old one, so Can a guy buy the FX3 with the new style remote?

If so what would be the price change on a FX3 and new style remote and would you have to wait until October for the new style remote if purchased with a FX3?

Thank in advance,

Scott

3rd Alarm,

No, you can not purchase the FX3 with the new remote. Only the FX5 will come with the new remote. Again, you could purchase the FX3, and then upgrade to the new FX5 at a later time for the price difference in the 2 units.

So this means that the new remote will 'drive' the existing FX3's...... Will the volume, sound list, and 'preprogrammed sound buttons' work the same with the FX3 as discribed above for the FX5? ........ if so..... will you be offering the new remote as a 'stand alone' for folks with FX3's that might be okay with their existing memory/sound capacity?...if so..... at what price?

StuDaBaka,

No, the volume indicator, preset sounds, and readout of sounds will not work from the TX200 transmitter when operating the FX3. You will get the same functions with the FX3 as you do with its transmitter. Instead of displaying the sound name, it will display the sound number.

$200.00 to upgrade from my FX3 to the new state of the art FX5? I am in /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif. That FX5 looks like a hunters dream. I have to agree with what others have said about the timing but I would be willing to make that sacrifice. Once again you have out done yourself Mike /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif. Hats off to you. The only concern I have is when the FX7 comes out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

P.S. You guys that are getting dirty looks and scowls from the wife just need to learn the little tricks to keep her out of the loop. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The upgrade line starts right behind me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike, When will you start accepting and queing up FX3's for upgrading? Oh, maybe you should send me the answer in a PM. Wouldn't want anyone trying to cut in line. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the answers, Mike. I know I asked too many questions and you only missed one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Is a signal being sent from the unit to the transmitter? Wouldn't that be the only way the vol. reading on the remote would be accurate?

Hey Joel!
We have developed a method to have a volume indicator without the use of a transceiver. All I can say is with this method the indicated volume will be accurate. I can't divulge anymore details on this as it is proprietary information!

Best Regards,
Steve Dillon

Stump49,

Yes we will have many new sounds out by the time the FX5 is ready. The new sounds will be from many species from Raccoons, Woodpeckers, Canines, Red Fox Pups, Black Bear Cub, Kittens, Elk Calfs, Sage Rats, Lip Squeaks, Sirens, Rodents, Coyotes, Rabbits and many many more.

With this being said, we have been very busy recording sounds and also with the help of our field staff members and others we have a lot of sounds on the horizon to be recorded with some of the best recording equipment money can buy.

The sound library will always continue to grow as new sounds are recorded and proven in field testing.

mike has some cougar sounds that need to be finished to guy's that's what i want and the new bear cub. three more months till bear and cougar season i cant take it. Rick

I think the remote screen needs to be like a cell phone. So say on the coyote sounds I have a coyote for wallpaper. And for bobcats a bobcat picture when your calling cats. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif And how about it actually telling you how many hours and minutes you have on your batteries before charging when you hit a certain button?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gifI also think it needs a button that actually connects you to Mike Dillon. That way if you have a problem in the field using it, he can send a text message telling what it is! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Foxpro Rules!!!!

Mike, the advance notice on the release of the new, enhanced FX is appreciated. The upgrades sound fantastic!!!

I do however request that you send me a little paper folder and some small envelopes, very similar to the one that I get every year from my mortgage company, that allows me to make payments in advance of actually owning the property. That way I could have a balance built up in my FX account to cover the cost of the upgrades to the “Next Level”. If you don’t have any little paper folders laying around that you can send to me, can I just send you $ 10.00 a week and have you apply it to my account? That way the wife won’t miss it. I can just chalk it up to an increase in the cost of gas or maybe weekly lunch money?

Don’t laugh! I’m serious! I just figured it out, if I start sending you $10.00 a week, starting next week, by October 1st there will be enough money for the FX-3 to FX-5 upgrade plus some additional sounds.

If it would help to alleviate any backload that you anticipate having in October, I can send you my FX-3 right now and you can put it on your production scheduling shelf with a big note attached to it, “DO ME FIRST!” Heck, you could even use mine to test your upgrade procedure and capability. Just let me know on either of the above. It will take about 47 seconds to have the FX-3 box and on the UPS truck.
