KR,
Cree is the manufacture of the LED and the brightest (highest true output)on the market. The light is actually manufactured by Brinyte.
So you want to stay with Cree LED's.
FYI-
The 240LM Brinyte is the same brightness (both use Cree LED)as the Kill Light 250.
The Brinyte has twice the size halo (what I like best for scanning) and the Kill Light light has a hot spot that is brighter in the center with half the size halo, but with the hot spot it's more concentrated in the center.
The Brinyte has a 2 mode LED (LOW & HIGH) and I have the three mode LED (low, med & High) on the Kill Light which I had to pay an extra $30 for, but I love it, because I hunt in woods (low), pipelines/cutovers (med) and open fields (high) and no matter what the conditions are, I'm covered.
Again, both have the same output in brightness to the naked eyes.
I also live 40 miles from Elusive Wildlife Technologies, 50 miles form K-Light , and five other top promoters of LED and/or night hunting lights and the Cree LED is the only way to go.
Keep in mind that most of the parts on the lights are manufactured oversees and just assembled here with a few being completely built & assembled overseas, but sold over here by American companies.
Another thing to keep in mind; when buying anything from oversees, you may not get the service and response that you would from most US Companies.
