This is still a work in progress. Have one more American flag to attach to the front and the little trailer still needs decorated.
This is for tomorrow's small hometown parade. We have three grandchildren and a couple of their friends riding in the back to throw out candy.
There are also at least three riders that will be on horseback, as well.
Hopefully I'll have some parade pictures later on.

Back when I enjoyed all things HORSES I tried to make every parade event in my area. My best horse ever (deceased) was a natural show-off. She could dance, side pass either way, rear on command and loved everybody, especially children. Happy 4th to all! USA still the greatest nation ever!!

Well Popper43, I graduated back in 1958, magna cum lawdy lawdy, and we began the day with the pledge. Haven't been in a school since my kids graduated so I can't speak to your question directly. I know this, America's schools have quit educating students and are indoctrinating them in subjects that offend most Americans I associate with. As a veteran I had the opportunity to visit several Asian countries and none could rise to the level of what we have attained in our short time as a nation founded on Judeo-Christians principles. My constant prayer to our Creator is that America repents and we get back to the old ways that made America the best!
No 'knock-knock' jokes about America cause Freedom rings. Told to me by her this morning.

Tonight was our usual 4th, we set our lawn chairs out in the street and watched the city fireworks (3/4 mile away) and enjoyed a root beer. We rarely miss a fireworks displays. After 3/4 of a century of watching fireworks we never get tired of them.
The beach fireworks at Ocean Shores WA has to be coldest and wettest 4th and the most exhilarating. You can drive about 25 miles on the beach and in some places the cars were parked 10 rows deep. Fireworks were legal on the beach and some groups had fireworks that rivaled a major cities fireworks display. From dusk till you couldn't stay awake any longer there were fireworks along the beach as far as you could see in either direction. It looked like people were fending off an alien invasion . Sometimes it would take hour to get off the beach to go home. When we would get home and the wind was off the ocean there was just a fog of gun powder smoke drifting over the peninsula. We'd sit in our car with a couple martinis and watch the show. A couple years we set up a tent so the girls had a bathroom. Boys had to use the dunes. The next day was beach clean up. If you never want to see your out of state relatives again, invite then to the 4th at Ocean Shores and tell them shorts and a tee shirt are fine, bring a blanket for the hypothermia. We joke that the Ocean Shores beach is the home of the full-length wool bikini.

In Texas we do, at least in the places I worked the last 25 years.
Spent a quiet fourth at the Forum in Houston. Started off the day right, though, as "Buck" greeted us all for breakfast in the dining room in appropriate attire.
It was, however a race to the finish to complete our 14th floor 1000 piece puzzle. Last piece went in around 9PM on the 4th, just in time to view the downtown fireworks display from our perch on the 14th floor:
